Are the TE's and RB's open when Aaron is forcing balls out of bounds or out of reach to DK?   I get wanting to feed Dk and get him going, but not at the cost of missing other open players and I don't think MM is utilizing the TE's to their potential.
Gerry Dulac
11:38
No they are not, or the play is going to get blown up, which is why he's throwing the ball in the ground or out of bounds.

Mornin’ Gerry! I am so glad that HBO is doing a documentary on Kordel Stewart. I’ve been a Steeler fan all my life and after the 70’s run, I, like most fans were looking for the next great QB and more Super Bowl runs. I loved when we got Kordel. He was a serious weapon. An NFL talent the likes of nothing we had seen before. Then the Steelers destroyed him. Trying to make him a pocket passer stifled his talent. He was Lamar before Lamar was born. I’ve always wondered if he was allowed to be himself with an offense built around his talents if there might not be more Lombardy’s in the trophy case. I’m interested in your take on him.

Kordell is and always has been one of my favorite all-time Steelers who endured one of the most malicious and unfounded gossip attacks I have ever witnessed here. We talk about it frequently.

How far off is Dunker injury and playing time wise? I like what they are building up front on both sides of the ball, agree?
Gerry Dulac
11:40
I don't think you need to worry about his playing time. He would not be getting any even if he were healthy and not on IR right now. That being said, they really like him.

Hi Gerry, Are the Steelers looking to upgrade the WR position?  How about a package of Roman Wilson plus a mid round pick in exchange for Brian Thomas or Josh Downs?
Gerry Dulac
11:41
Hmmm, let me take a minute before I answer that one. Hadn't even thought about it

What are the chances the Steelers show they are real contenders and sign a cornerback and wide receiver, both?

I recently saw pictures of teams in the mid 1970s.  Shoulder pads and protective equipment was much larger then.  What changed?  Better materials?
Gerry Dulac
11:42
Better, lighter, more shock absorbent. Like everything else

I keep seeing there’s a chance they trade Queen. Why would they do that? He’s playing well and they are contending. Makes zero sense.
Gerry Dulac
11:42
I don't know where you see that. Some misinformed publication or website??
Brian
11:43
Is there a scenario where you see PG switching out of the primarily soft zone defense in the secondary as the season progresses or does this secondary just not have the talent/depth to stay in man coverage?
Gerry Dulac
11:43
Maybe. But this is obviously the way he wants to play, or feel he has to play, with his personnel
Greenfield Gorillas
11:43
well it’s not good that Joey Porter played hooky and he bet the Steelers into the corner. The Steelers were absolutely cheap. They’re paying $140 million for this defense but didn’t want to make it 142 million to pay Joey Porter!  I’m hoping they can go after someone like sauce Gardner to have the shut down corners they were supposed to have
Gerry Dulac
11:44
Oh yeah, that move would be about smart as your initial comment. I'll let them know they're cheap.

Good Morning Gerry.  Personally, I think this weekend's Browns game is crucial for the Steelers.  If the Steelers come away with a W, I feel the path to the playoffs is easier if the Steelers can get to ten wins by going 4-5 after the bye.  It's not guaranteed, but is much more probable than the Steelers going 5-4.  I would love to hear your insight on the topic.  Thank You
Gerry Dulac

Priority No. 1 -- don't get swept by the Browns, or any division opponent.

A golf comment/question: The PGAT was forced to revise it's model a few years back at the risk of losing more talent to LIV, an unsustainable entity born of resentment and greed. The revisions continue (even though LIV is dead and LIV 2.0 likely will never materialize and will certainly not have relevance if it does) with an all new schedule and basically two tiers starting next year. Am I just an old man yelling at the clouds when I say that LIV was nothing more than a grenade that was thrown into professional golf that will make the experience worse for the fans for the foreseeable future?
Gerry Dulac
11:46
You're not yelling at the clouds. It has certainly not been good for the game. Maybe the pockets of the tour players, who benefited from LIV's presence by having even more dollars thrown their way. But not the game itself. It's sad to see.
QB Next Year
11:46
If the Steelers take a QB in an early round, that likely means that Howard is gone right?  I would think they'd want to keep Rudolph to have an experienced backup, and it would be unlikely to have 3 inexperienced QBs on the roster?
Gerry Dulac
11:46
That sounds about right

Hi Gerry - we all know power rankings are nonsense. But can we call out how the national media consistently overrates the Ravens? Didn’t the Steelers sweep them
Gerry Dulac
11:47
You're right -- they are nonsense.

it seems to happen frequently that Warren makes some good plays and gets us in the red zone and they take him out when it’s most critical and the drive stalls. It happend on first possession against Saints and I believe the following two. I see giving him a break but it was first possession of game. Stops momentum! Your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
11:47
In retrospect, hard to argue with your assessment. Warren is a beast

How motivating are the Jared Verse comments?  Do they motivate the entire team or do they motivate guys to give Verse an extra face wash in a pile?  (or both)
Gerry Dulac
11:48
I'm sorry, I missed his comments....fortunately

Hi Gerry, good am. If you could make one deal to improve this team, what position would it be?
Gerry Dulac
11:49
I'd try to acquire Christian Gonzalez

GM Gerry, thanks for the chats! What are the timeframes for both Pittman & Wilson to return? Are you hearing if they are serious about getting a WR or CB before the deadline?
Gerry Dulac
11:49
They are not, but you never know when another team comes knocking or selling
McCarthy’s Foot
11:49
Gerry, would you say one of the underrated strengths of the Steelers is the versatility of the offense? They’ve shown they can go spread, RPO, even jumbo package with extra o line and run.
Gerry Dulac
11:50
That's exactly what Mike McCarthy wanted to build with this offense. And that's what you've seen through all these injuries
Ex players
11:50
Why is it that Steelers fans think that ex-Steelers who are well past their primes, will return to their old form once they rejoin the team?  I've seen it for years: Woodley, Bell, Jesse James, Claypool, and now Harris.  They were all traded, cut, or allowed to leave for very good reasons.
Gerry Dulac
11:51
That is just naive, whimsical thinking

Hello-  everyone loves P Queen this week after last game. Amazing what happens when the D-Line plays like a Brick wall.
Gerry Dulac
11:52
Don't dismiss the way Queen played in Paris and attribute it to the defensive line. You're not paying attention if you think that
