Who would you like to see as the next OC?  Hopefully someone that can bring innovation and creativity needed now in the NFL that is almost semi flag football with offense being highlighted.  Thank you.
Gerry Dulac
10:12
Frank Reich would be a good choice.

What is your assessment of the Steelers wideouts and O-line? Receivers seem unable to separate and the line still allows too much pressure. How can KP be accurately judged with these weaknesses around him? Thanks.
Gerry Dulac
10:15
I think the WRs -- two in particular, one especially -- are lazy and moody. But let's not use that to entirely absolve the QB of blame for some of his decisions and inaccuracy, though I thought Kenny Pickett's deep-ball accuracy was outstanding in Cincy. And I have no problem with the offensive line. Some of that is on the QB too

Is it time to let Chucks out of the dog house and put Jones back at LT so Kenny can get some time to go through his progressions? Playing Dan Moore is becoming as much of a mystery as keeping Canada beyond last season.
Gerry Dulac
10:15
That's a pretty good thought!

Hey Gerry. Fitz and Adams coming back this week. The D will be even MORE solid now. How many points do the Steelers need to put up each game and into the playoffs to get to the AFC Championship?  I’m gonna go with 25 points.
Gerry Dulac
10:15
24 will do.

Can Darnell Washington be converted to OT?  I think he would transition quickly kind of like Larry Brown in the 70’s.
Gerry Dulac
10:16
No need to. He's fine right where he is. They have tackles.

The incident involving #18 (in last week's game) was really a bad, bad look. To stand around on the field during the play and observe like that is an affront to those players like #22 who was getting bashed and battered while carrying a pile of defensive players for 5 more yards.  And the great defensive players like #90 and #56 and all of the rest of those guys who have been carrying the team to a 7 and 4 record while everyone waits for the offense to catch up.  #18 must apologize to his team mates and to the fans and to the rest of the NFL and do so with humble conviction.  also this fan believes that he should incur a one game suspension.  15 million dollars a year for that. Do you know if anything is going to be done about this?
Gerry Dulac
10:17
I sure hope something is done beyond apologizing to his teammates. Antonio Brown led the league in Monday apologies, but that didn't deter his abhorrent behavior, either. I'm not comparing DJ to AB, but this isn't the only incident we have seen from him. Ask Mitch Trubisky and Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Can the Steelers trade DJ to Chicago for another high second round pick in the offseason?
Gerry Dulac
10:18
No because then the Bears would have another DJ to go with DJ Moore.

Was the offensive performance against the Bengals a result of some players' exuberance at Canada's departure? It's the same guys and the same plays.
Gerry Dulac
10:19
I think there is something to that, for sure
Paul from Beaver Falls
10:19
What’s the story on Mark Robinson?  I thought he played well in the offseason.
Gerry Dulac
10:19
That was the offseason. I think they like the veteran presence Mykal Walker brings more.

Why do so many offensive players have their under armor t-shirts hanging out well below their jerseys? That just gives defenders something to grab onto. They wear their jerseys skin tight but have that hanging out. Drives me crazy!!!
Gerry Dulac
10:20
I'm a little baffled myself about that. My mom, and the nuns, always told me to tuck in my shirts.

Greetings from the Bluegrass State, Gerry.  I know it was only one game but the offense obviously improved last weekend. All season people have been critical of Najee and KP for not living up to the productivity expected of a first round pick. Do you think that it is becoming evident that their lack of progress was due to Matt Canada's offensive game management and not for their lack of abilities? With that in mind, does Najee get more consideration for his fifth year option?  Thanks.
Gerry Dulac
10:21
Good question -- we'll see how the final six games play out. But there is no question when Najee runs with determination and a purpose to hit the hole he looks like a No. 1 back.

A common refrain among the fan base is that Tomlin loses games he shouldn't, plays down to the competition, etc.  There are upsets every week in the NFL.  Do you think the Steelers do this more than the other teams in the NFL or is it just normal across the league?
Gerry Dulac
10:23
If you go back to last season, especially since the 2022 bye, the exact opposite has been true. The Steelers are 14-6 since then because they have been winning the games they should win. And, yes, that hasn't always been the case.

Good morning. Mr Dulac.  The offense looked considerably better this week compared to the rest of the season.  Are we to fool ourselves into thinking it was as simple as moving on from the OC?   Or do we treat this last game like the preseason - let's wait and see what happens over the next 6 games.
Gerry Dulac
10:24
Well, I think you do have to wait and see what happens the next 6 games, but I don't think it was any coincidence that what we saw was a result of Canada being let go. There was a sense of relief but also excitement that things were going to change -- and they did.

Was pistol formation new or did I just miss it over the last three years?
Gerry Dulac

It's been there

Is RT Chuks Okorafor on the bench the rest of the season? And does this mean he is off the roster next year at $ 10m salary? If so, will Jones and Dan Moore switch sides next year?
Gerry Dulac
10:27
They are not going to keep Chuks next year with what he will cost them, which includes a $4 million roster bonus in March. Dan Moore comes a lot cheaper. As for switching sides, I don't think Dan Moore is a good enough run blocker to play the right side.

Please describe Mike Tomlin's two biggest deficiencies as a head coach.
Gerry Dulac
10:28
Keeping Matt Canada. Not publicly punishing his moody WRs?
Jon
10:28
Gerry, going back to the Matt Canada firing...what was the straw that broke Art II in making that unprecedented move? Was the team really on the verge of internally falling apart as some folks seem to suggest? Happy holidays to you and your family!
Gerry Dulac
10:29
The final straw was what was witnessed in Cleveland -- the realization the Steelers are in this playoff race and they couldn't keep going the way they were going offensively. And the team wasn't falling apart. The offense was.

Chase Claypool was inactive last Sunday for the Miami Dolphins. Why exactly did they trade for him?
Gerry Dulac
10:29
Ask them. And he's already gone from the Bears.

Noticed you called the Godfather of Pgh sportswriters out of retirement to squash the ARII/Tomlin/Canada nonstory. Always great to see Ed. Nice!!!!!  :)

Hello Gerry. Will DJ receive any internal punishment for the fumble debacle in Cincy?
Gerry Dulac

He should
