If Columbus does not make the playoffs will Torts get fired?
Jason Mackey
1:56
I would think so.

I'm coming into town for the game, what're the best places to eat near Mellon Arena?
Jason Mackey
1:57
They don't play there anymore, just FYI. Restaurant in Cambria Suites is always excellent. If you're Downtown, I'd recommend Pork & Beans. That's a fun pregame spot, then just take the T over.

Who do you have going to the cup this year?
Jason Mackey
1:58
Right now, I think Tampa and Winnipeg.

Am I the only one who forgot how good Schultz is at starting the break out of the defensive zone and at the offensive blue line. Almost always makes good and quick decisions with the puck. Happy to have him back.
Jason Mackey
1:58
I didn't forget about it, per se, but it does reinforce how important he is to this team. Such a talented player. He and Johnson have actually been very good together, too.

Pitt, Raleigh(canes),Nashville(preds) or Denver(avs)? Which is your favorite city and also in terms of fans who has the most at their games ?
Jason Mackey
1:59
I'm discounting Pittsburgh. That's different. But among those three, I'd say Nashville. Great city. Food is amazing. Been fan of Broadway and such. Bridgestone is always rocking. The other two are in my top 10, though.

hi, Jason: It's about time Sullivan showed some confidence in his number 1 goalie.  While this has not been Murray's best year, Sullivan's often bizarre treatment of him has been bewildering.  I really like Casey as our #2, but Matt is the goalie that can win another Cup.
Jason Mackey
2:02
I agree with this, Harold. I get being liberal with using Casey early. But lately, he's gone with him a few curious times -- against Vegas, Tampa and San Jose. In my opinion, Matt should've played all three. Seems Sully is changing his tune a little bit on that stuff.

Do you know of any decent college free agents that the Pens have their eyes on this Spring?  Two years ago, signing ZAR was somewhat of a coup, and they seemed to be in the running for Will Butcher until the end.
Jason Mackey
2:03
Believe Josh Wilkins from Providence is one they're looking at and interested in.
Cameron

Will Maatta stay over Johnson? Hopefully.
Jason Mackey
2:03
I doubt it. One's contract is much more palatable to opposing teams. I think you know whose i mean.
Cosmo K

I think flower could take Murray, but what in the world would have to happen for that to occur? Barasso over both, Johnson and Barasso could be interesting... Les Binkley as the baddest of all maybe...
Jason Mackey
2:04
Uh ... nothing. Fleury and Murray aren't fighting, although it's a funny premise to think about.

Horny was given a maintenance day yesterday....guessing after he got hit in the hand/arm during the 1st on Tuesday night.
Jason Mackey
2:04
Yes, this is accurate. He's fine.

Thanks, Jason. Follow up, between NHL and AHL players, what’s your ideal (dream) lineup?
Jason Mackey
2:04
i don't know what you mean, but I would definitely fill it with NHL guys over those from the AHL.

Any concern with the secondary scoring being down lately?  Crosby and Guentzal, I think, are human and can't carry the team consistently - especially in the playoffs when they will be played hard by the opposition.
Jason Mackey
2:05
Not at all. Malkin and Kessel had all kinds of chances last game. They're getting enough from their other lines. The puck just isn't finding the back of the net.
Edward Nygma
2:05
it might be best if they ride Murray. Save his energy and body the wear and tear while he just lays back and enjoys the glory
Jason Mackey
2:06
I think he might do a little more than that, Edward.

Are you coming into work tonight or should i mark you off the schedule?
Jason Mackey
2:06
I'll be in.
Joanne

Jason....like your picks for the starting lineup when the playoffs start. Miss Horny playing with Sid.    Is Horny in tonight after his maintenance day yesterday? Guessing he was given the day off after getting hit in the hand/arm during the 1st period Tues night.
Jason Mackey
2:06
Yeah, he's in. He's fine.

What can you tell us about the draft pick they just signed, Jan Drozg?  Sure, he won't compete for a spot anytime soon, but he sure looks like a decent prospect.
Jason Mackey
2:10
Admittedly don't know a ton, but he's got some decent skill. Good around the net. Can move. Doesn't have a great all-around game, though.
Concerned Citizen

does the team provide blankets for the players between periods? i'd imagine it must get very cold down on the ice and i'm a mother so it's my right to be concerned
Jason Mackey
2:10
I think they stay plenty warm. Good one.

Was The Hagelin “no trade” meaning they are interested in him for the offseason and they wanted him for this year
Jason Mackey
2:11
I don't understand what you're asking, Andrew. They tried to reacquire him but leaned they couldn't because of a quirk in the CBA/salary cap structure.

Any timetable on Rust return?
Jason Mackey
2:11
He'll be back before playoffs.

Hi Jason, thanks for doing this chat. What do you think about Gudbranson's performance so far on the blue line?
Jason Mackey
2:12
I think he's been fine. He plays it safe. A lot of D-to-D passes. Nothing fancy. But he hasn't been atrocious, as some in Vancouver might have you believe.
