Dynasty Guy
11:13
I could acquire Jung Hoo Lee in a category dynasty league.  I realize he won’t play this year but I’m wondering what his long term outlook is.   Will he be a good fantasy contributor next year and beyond and is he worth stashing on an IL slot?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:14
Depends on what you have to give up but I think he's a good asset to stash
Oakland pitcher
11:15
I picked up JP Sears, Oakland's "ace" because I figured he'd be OK with his ratio and ERA, even if he didn't get wins and K's. In his last outing: 8 runs in 1.3 innings. Is this a sign of things to come? Should I cut bait on him right now before it's too late? This was his fifth time in his last nine starts that he's given up more than four runs. Will Oakland trade him?

Run away! Run away!
11:16
But yeah, he'll probably get traded
to Milwaukee lol

Which injured SP or two do you think helps fantasy teams the most the rest of this year? G Williams, E Cabrera, J Springs, C Kershaw, R Ray or J deGrom?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:18
Springs and Gavin Williams
though I'm sure deGrom's 2.5 starts will be amazing

Would you still rank S Murphy > L O'Hoppe > P Bailey in that order? Bailey's savant page has gotten pretty impressive
Nicklaus Gaut
11:19
As of this moment...yeah
but I really, really like Bailey
rising like new yeast

Will bae be a factor for Pittsburgh ROS or is he an afterthought in their plans
Nicklaus Gaut
11:19
afterthought
11:20
Triple-A monster tho
Desperate Outfielder
11:20
Is it time to grab Wood? I'm getting next to no production from a cobbled together outfield but I don't want to waste the roster spot.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:20
Yes!
Surely, he's gotta get the call soon, right???

What about the voice of Korey Lee. How did it get so high? I wonder if he speaks like an ordinary guy.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:23
iirc his mother was involved in a super helium serum experiment gone awry while preggo
source: trust me bro
Bautista
11:23
Do the Orioles still see Felix Bautista as their closer next year once he recovers from TJ surgery? Or are they going to extend Kimbrel and exercise his option for $13 million next year?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:24
I have to imagine they'll prefer their in-house options over giving Kimby another $13 mil

What do you think of Spencer Schwellenbach and Spencer Horwitz? Very small sample size but they've held their own more than not so far
Nicklaus Gaut
11:25
I like Horowitz more but they've both proved they have starter ability

Schneeman and Schuemann need a podcast or comic strip. Who do you like better in an obp league?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:25
100%
I like Schneeman more
11:26
but both are leading the league in "confusing fantasy analysts trying to remember who they're talking about"

Do the Yankees have enough magic to make JD Davis a thing? I'm flashing back to 2022 Matt Carpenter.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:26
a minor amount of magic
11:27
like 1st-year Hogwarts level

in case you were wondering, my kids have been binging Potter for a week

Hey, NG... always grateful for the insightful chats... regular reader/infrequent asker... but here i go...  i am in 4th place in a 10-team AL-only dynasty league and our trading season has just begun... of the contenders, i have some in-demand future assets who i could trade for a bevy of superstars… but 1st is probably out of reach and 2nd is no guarantee… so i am thinking of holding for next year… i have the following players on super cheap contracts: Royce Lewis, Tyler Soderstrom, Colt Keith, Zach Neto, Wilyer Abreu, David Fry, Jackson Holliday, Luis Gil, Yariel Rodriguez, Orelvis Martinez…  what are your predictions for 2025 for each of those?  or in other words, who will deliver more of the same, who will contribute less than this year, who will contribute significantly more?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:29
Your best long-term assets imo are Holliday, Gil, and Martinez. Not that the other ones are bad but they'd be the ones I'd consider more expendable for the right trades
11:30
And damn it, I love Royce Lewis so much...but I always loved Buxton too. Easy comp but still accurate. You should be able to fetch a pretty penny for him from a contender...Could keep blowing up but could also have a season-ending injury by the ASB
11:31
but do give yourself a pat on the back for being realistic about your team's chances and looking ahead - it's a hard thing to do, especially when you might be in shouting distance

Start Willson Contreras tonight? or give him a couple of days to get his timing back?
