I don't think the sign-stealing scandal mattered much. We're a year removed from George Springer getting the biggest free agent deal of the offseason
Stanley, Lord of Cupington
6:18
What team do you think improved the most on paper since the end of last year?
Anthony Franco
6:19
Rangers, but that's partially because the bar was so low to begin with
6:20
I think the Mets probably made the biggest jump among teams that are realistic contenders this year
Jeremy H
6:21
Bader, Zach Thompson, Jake Woodford for either A’s Starter?
Anthony Franco
6:21
Can't see why STL would give up Bader in this scenario
RedFraggle
6:21
Any teams out there that would be a good partner on an Anthony Santander trade?
Anthony Franco
6:22
I'd like Cleveland if they didn't let him walk for nothing in the first place. San Diego and Cincinnati make some sense, but he might have to get off to a strong start to hold much appeal after a rough season
Olereb
6:22
What is your take on the Freddy Freeman situation?
Anthony Franco
6:23
That both the Braves and Dodgers are probably better teams than they would've been if Freeman re-signed with Atlanta
Brooklyngail
6:23
Is this Swanson’s last year in Atlanta?
Anthony Franco
6:24
I think they'll be motivated to keep him around, and given his ties to the area, I'd say it's more likely than not he signs a long-term deal with Atlanta
Grayson
6:25
Didn't the Twins intend to trade Sanchez? If that is still their intention they're doing everyone involved a huge disservice.
Anthony Franco
6:25
I think he'll probably just see a good amount of DH at-bats
The Gooch
6:25
Padres get Chad Pinder and Ramon L .Oakland gets Trent Grisham and Campusano. Who says no?
Anthony Franco
6:25
Padres
AG
6:26
Do you think winning the division is still advantageous under this format?
Anthony Franco
6:26
Getting the bye is huge
6:27
I don't think there's a real difference between finishing third and fifth (aside from a little more playoff revenue) but there's a real motivation to be a top two in your league
Top two team*

Do you think the Dodgers would be open to trading Bellinger? If so, how much would the White Sox have to give up to get him? Kimbrel of any interest as the headliner?
Anthony Franco
6:28
No, I don't think the Dodgers want to move Bellinger. They're exactly the kind of team that seems like they'd love to take a shot on a rebound
Supremely talented player coming off a down year but only on a one-year deal? Dodgers love those guys
Random dude
6:29
Astros lost Correa, M's gained Ray, Winker, Suarez, and A. Frazier. Is this the year the Astros are toppled?
Anthony Franco
6:29
Still think the Astros are the favorites in the division. The lineup depth they have even without Correa is pretty crazy
Tim
6:29
Do the Rangers still finish in last in their division after all their spending?
Anthony Franco
6:29
Above Oakland

The Braves seem light in CF , do they add someone before Acura can play the field?
Anthony Franco
6:30
Looks like it'll just be Duvall holding down the fort for a month
Random dude
6:30
What are the odds that they just combine the international and amateur drafts? Seems like two drafts gives a double-bonus to teams that suck.
Anthony Franco
6:31
That's not happening. Too hard to compare a 21-year-old out of Mississippi State with a 16-year-old from Venezuela
Not even just as players, although that's obviously also true. But something like the domestic draft being soft-slotted -- so teams can go overslot on high schoolers and compensate by going under on college guys -- while the international draft has to be hard-slotted
6:32
Because a kid coming from Latin America doesn't have a full scholarship to a Division I school as leverage in negotiating with teams, so teams could offer them a fraction of the slot value otherwise

6:33
You mentioned you don't see the Phillies as a top 6 team in the NL, which is definitely fair, but who are your top six? (I have the Phillies at exactly 6)
Anthony Franco
6:34
Dodgers, Braves, Brewers, Mets, Giants, Padres probably
6:35
If you wanted to put the Phils or Cardinals over one of the NL West teams (not the Dodgers), I could see it, but they'd be just out for me
Will The Thrill
6:35
If you could start your expansion franchise with any current player, who are you taking?
Anthony Franco
6:35
If we're taking contracts out of it, I think I'd go Soto
6:36
May have said Acuna but it's tough to take him over Soto/Vlad until we see him back after the ACL
sdz
6:36
Will the Marlins make a bid for B. Reyonlds or C. Mullins?
