I was only asked between Walker and Alvarez. Carroll is in the mix for sure

Do you have a prediction for what Kodai Senga’s numbers might look like for the Mets this year?  Can he throw 200 innings?
Simon Hampton
6:51
Always hard to predict how players will go coming across from foreign leagues, but I have a hard time seeing him going 200. Hardly any pitcher does these days, and Senga hasn't thrown north of 150 since 2019

6:52
Will SF finish below SD and LA in the NL west?
Simon Hampton
6:53
Yes, and possibly below Arizona as well
2023 MLB Season
6:53
Your predictions to division winners / playoff teams
Simon Hampton
6:53
Yankees, Astros, Guardians and Dodgers, Cardinals, Mets
Alex
6:56
Excited for F1 tomorrow?
Simon Hampton
6:57
Very much so! Hoping Alonso can find his way onto the podium
Brewers
6:57
What are the Brewers missing (excluding injuries) to take the Cardinals for the division?
Simon Hampton
6:58
I think it's pretty close between those two
Dave
6:58
We know the Yankees wouldn’t give up the haul the Pirates wanted for Reynolds. But hypothetically, would they do Volpe or Dominguez straight-up?
Simon Hampton
6:58
I would

Phillies roster looks stacked everywhere this year, how are they only projected to win 85ish games?  Their record without Harper last year was just as good as it was with him, that can’t be the reason
Simon Hampton
7:00
I don't really look at the projections but to me there's three teams in that division each capable of pushing 100 wins, and the Nationals and Marlins aren't among them
Cardz
7:01
The Cards have a stockpile of young talent which they’l have trouble getting at bats, especially if Walker breaks into the roster.  Do they move some players to fortify the pitching staff or hold them for depth?
Simon Hampton
7:03
I think they'll probably see how the rotation of Wainwright, Mikolas, Montgomery, Flaherty and Matz do to begin with, but with question marks around Flaherty and Matz I could definitely see in the pitching market this summer
ooklah the mok
7:04
What your take on the NL East top 3? And do they all make the playoffs again?
Simon Hampton
7:04
Yeah easily. Suspect it'll be three from the East, two from the West and one from the Central
RAGBRAI
7:05
Who gets more ABs at catcher Kelly or Moreno? Do they rotate through the DH too?
Simon Hampton
7:06
Think they'll fairly evenly split the catching duties, but Moreno will probably get more DH reps so should get more ABs over the season
Bucco Fan
7:06
Your prediction: Does Reynolds finish the season as a Pirate?
Simon Hampton
7:06
No
Jeff T
7:06
Think that the Rangers can win 90 games considering the rule changes and their bad luck in 1 run games????
Simon Hampton
7:07
I think the Rangers will be in the 82ish win range this year
Carson
7:08
Do the Angels make the playoffs?
Simon Hampton
7:08
Yep
Armchair GM
7:09
Which team do you think will be the biggest surprise playoff team and which team do you think will be the biggest disappointment?
Simon Hampton
7:09
Rangers are my disappointment, Angels are my surprise playoff team (not that much of a surprise)
7:10
Will wrap this up shortly - before I dash, keen to hear any thoughts y'all have on podcast content for the MLBTR podcast which we're relaunching shortly. Not saying the suggestions will be acted on, but keen to take on board your thoughts/ideas

What. do you think of the White Sox this year? Winning season?
Simon Hampton
7:12
.500ish for me, with the upside for a bit more
TigerDoc
7:12
Once the season starts at least some mention of how the new rules are affecting the game.  Also, something about ever team once in awhile.
Simon Hampton
7:13
Suspect the new rules will be discussed for sure. 30 teams is always a challenge and no doubt everyone's favorite team will apparently be ignored, but we'll definitely try and get an even balance of all 30 teams
Pedro 4 Delino
7:14
Prospect talk on the podcast please
Simon Hampton
7:14
I think this is something we'll try and do periodically
Expansion
7:14
Is Nashville part of the next expansion plans, if so any guesses if they get an NL or AL squad?
Simon Hampton
7:15
No idea on NL or AL, but would like to see MLB use the expansion to realign the league. All the intra-city teams in the same division.

7:16
I think Miguel Vargas should be “in the mix” for NL ROY as well.  He has arguably the best combination of bat to ball skills, zone awareness, and patience of any NL rookie for 2023.  Thoughts?
Simon Hampton
7:17
Agree, yeah. The names I mentioned wasn't an exclusive list - Vargas is another one for sure
