Destinations? Pick a contender who's not the Padres or Astros (or Angels after last season's disaster) and I can see the fit
Will the hits keep coming
5:32
The whitesox are finally scoring some runs. Who do they add by the deadline?
Anthony Franco
5:33
They'll probably give Mendick a shot at second base for a few weeks but I'm guessing that'll be a need. They're a good fit for a Drury type of capable but low-impact infielder
5:34
And back-end starting pitching, so they don't have to keep running out Velasquez in important games
Carlos Correa
5:34
What are the odds of my staying in Minnesota beyond this year, either by opt in or extension?
Anthony Franco
5:34
Like 25%?

5:35
What will Marlins do?
Anthony Franco
5:36
Depends on how close they are a month from now. If they're still in it, they'd probably look to add a center fielder and late-inning reliever
5:37
They're teetering on the edge right now though. It's a better team than 28-33 would suggest but eventually you have to start winning some close games or it doesn't matter

5:37
Do you ever get tired of thinking about baseball everyday? I got really into baseball for the first time a couple years ago, but recently I've found myself losing interest.
Anthony Franco
5:38
Interesting question. I love that I can do this as my job but I do watch less baseball in my free time than I used to for this reason
5:39
Wouldn't say I'm "tired" of it so much as I want to maintain interest in other stuff too and there are only so many hours in a day
Stine
5:39
Alonso top 10 mvp?
Anthony Franco
5:40
Yeah I think he'd be in the back half of the top ten right now
Travis
5:40
Will Michael Harris end up with more WAR this year than Christian Pache has by the end of his career?
Anthony Franco
5:40
Ha I'm a Pache skeptic but that feels harsh
5:41
Michael A. Taylor has a career 81 wRC+ and 7-8 career WAR based on the glove. I think Pache can get there still
Farhandrew Zaidman
5:42
Belli doomed to be a .200/.250/.400 hitter for the rest of his life? If so, that arb price tag is looking mighty heavy for that level of production.
Anthony Franco
5:42
He's a little better than that but the days of elite play look to be in the rearview unfortunately. Trending towards a non-tender, yeah
Mile Hi
5:42
Will the inscrutable Rockies be buyers at the deadline?
Anthony Franco
5:43
I don't think they'll aggressively buy so much as resist moving the Daniel Bard types
Jaxon
5:44
Will we see Henderson or Westburg in the Orioles infield anytime this year? Thanks
Anthony Franco
5:45
Westbury feels likelier since he's a couple years older. Neither has to go on the 40 this winter though, so there's some chance they just keep them in Norfolk for the rest of the season
James
5:45
What do you see the Braves needing  at the deadline. SP, RP, LF 2B?  Maybe call the Reds for Drury and Castillo.
Anthony Franco
5:46
Yeah, mentioned second base earlier depending on Arcia's performance. Otherwise I think they could just use another bat in general to take some DH at-bats and cut into the playing time of whichever of Duvall or Ozuna is playing worse a month from now
Ralph Malph
5:47
I didn't think the Cubs would be particularly good this year, but I certainly didn't think they would be an embarrassment either. What the hell?
Anthony Franco
5:48
Eh, it looked like a bottom five-ish roster to me coming into the year. Rotation is bad and there are some dead spots at the back of the lineup
5:49
I thought Madrigal would be better, but Wisdom's outperformed what I expected coming in so that kind of cancels out
Franco Anthony
5:49
After the last chat you said to shoot q's to your Twitter. I did but you never answered. Why must you forsake me??
Anthony Franco
5:50
Didn't realize I missed you, sorry about that. Throw it at me again, I'll respond this time haha
BhamBrave
5:50
What kind of deal do you see Dansby Swanson getting in free agency, and with whom?
Anthony Franco
5:51
Believe I answered this a couple weeks ago but he's right on the nine figure border for me
5:52
Haven't spent too much time looking at post-2022 free agent fits yet, but aside from the Braves, the Cubs, Nats and the teams that have their own impending FA shortstop jump out as possible suitors
Brewers
5:52
Why is Cain still on the roster
Anthony Franco
5:53
Defense and clubhouse presence, plus the lack of other everyday center fielders on the roster
5:54
They'll kind of have to give Taylor more AB's at Cain's expense, but it's not like he's an especially good regular either
Adell
5:55
You kidding me Wade in CF and Lagares in RF?
Anthony Franco
5:55
Yeah I don't understand why Lagares is still hanging around
5:56
I guess they still want Adell getting regular reps in Salt Lake, but at this point, I'd just have him in a part-time role in the majors
Bryan
5:57
Which team do you think hasn't gotten talked enough about so far this season?
