I haven't read anything suggesting the two will try to reunite, but regardless of where he goes, Wood's not going to cash in. He would indeed make for a high-upside back-end guy.

Do you think the one game playoff trivializes the playoffs?  I am all for a shorter season and longer postseason to add some excitement.  162 games for a 1 game playoff seems to be too trivial.

I didn't like it at first, but I've done a 180 in recent years. I just hope MLB keeps it at 10 playoff teams, though. Don't be like the NBA/NHL and start letting everyone in.

I don't think they're bad for baseball. I'd rather see the players cash in than the owners pocket the money. Doesn't mean a lot of these deals don't turn into albatrosses for the teams, granted. But it goes both ways. Do you think the Nats regret Scherzer's contract? Of course not.
