Sorry, I don't speak Canadian.
2:39
But seriously ... maybe? Club is already past its record payroll, I believe, and the FO is on record saying they don't want to trim farm depth.

They've got a pitch-clock, how about timing how long they have to get back to their positions after the 3rd out? Guys take forever in between half-innings
Jeffrey Todd
2:40
Eh, I hate to mess with the rythm and flow of the game too much. What really irks me though is the 15-second dance between pitches that guys like Tulo perform. Mating ritual?

Hey Jeff if you ever had the chance to have a major league at-bat, what would be your walk up song?

What kind of a return could dozier get this off season if nunez can bring a mejia? Maybe a de leon for the dodgers?
Jeffrey Todd
2:41
Beware the analogy you are trying to draw. Very different assets. And a guy like De Leon may not be available for anything less than a really premium big leaguer. But I certainly could see valuing Dozier and De Leon in the same general stratosphere - just doesn't mean that the latter would be available.
2:42
The market overlays our best assessments of value, is the general point.

Pet Peeves during a baseball game? ex. The Wave during a close ballgame
Jeffrey Todd
2:43
People not paying any attention to the game. Unless they are managing kids - that I understand.

Thoughts on where Jonathan Papelbon is going?
Jeffrey Todd
2:44
Boston sounds likeliest, but that's just me seeing where the wind seems to be blowing.

When will the Mets wake up and see that they need a REAL catcher that can hit!?!?
Jeffrey Todd
2:45
I believe the hope was that they had one of those. Ultimately, teams have to take chances on younger players if they believe in the talent. Mets weren't wrong at all for relying on TDA coming into the year.
2:46
Now? I don't know, but it's probably too late to really upgrade (or even for it to matter a ton). They did try for Lucroy, so can't say they aren't aware.

Is Joey Votto a good replacement for Joey Bats and EE?
Jeffrey Todd
2:47
I've now seen suggestions of Votto to Red Sox and Jays. Very unlikely he'll be traded, but former is much more plausible than latter IMO.
Patrick
2:47
What position do you see the braves addressing this offseason besides catcher?
Jeffrey Todd
2:47
Well, besides SS and 1B, they could probably stand to add just about anywhere.

Who is the biggest name moved before Sept 1?
Jeffrey Todd
2:48
Danny Valencia?
Assuming Gomez ends up being released rather than traded, at least.
Mariners Fan

What's up with Mariners shortstops slipping in there sophomore years the past 3 years? Brad Miller, Chris Taylor, now Ketel Marte
Jeffrey Todd
2:49
Typical variability combined with small sample (bad) luck.

Not remotely.

2:50
Am I capable of being a full-time catcher next season and beyond?
Jeffrey Todd
2:50
That's a big ask. He has earned the presumption of a big league job next year. One step at a time.
Cory

Lawyer's not a marketable trade?
Jeffrey Todd
2:51
Yeah I guess I meant the college part of it. Lawyering is pretty marketable, if you want to be doing it.

Melky Cabrera to the Blue Jays or Cards.?
Jeffrey Todd
2:52
Seem like plausible partners.
Barry Bonds

You are a good moderator. Do you use CEDs (chat enhancing drugs)? Also, could I eventually be a manager somewhere?
Jeffrey Todd
2:53
Have they banned coffee yet? Man I need a hit of that stuff right now.
Bonds ... it's not unimaginable.

Here's an idea about speeding up the game, if you don't like the pace go watch another sport.

Whats so bad about a 3 hour game when you pay >$25 a ticket?
Jeffrey Todd
2:54
More for your money, it's true. So long as they are playing and not just hanging around wasting time, at least.
