Just two years left on his deal, don't see ATL biting. Twins will have a tough time dealing Dozier, I think, unless they're willing to settle for a nice return rather than some gobstopping package.

How much trade value does Matt Adams have? Seems like he's the centerpiece of every proposed cards trade.
Jeffrey Todd
2:26
That's b/c Cards fans, like those of most all teams, are looking for ways to get something nice for a spare part. They've made clear he doesn't have a real place in their plans. Don't see him bringing much back.

What's a CBA?
Jeffrey Todd
2:27
Collective bargaining agreement. League and union negotiating out all the rules that end up shaping player transactions market. Read up on the website!

What would it take for the Jays to pry Eaton from the White Sox?
Jeffrey Todd
2:28
Better question: why would they do what it takes (a lot) to get him when FA has lots of options?

How do you see the OF in San Diego playing out.
Jeffrey Todd
2:29
Without getting into specifics, b/c we don't know since it hasn't happened, they'll compete the jobs in camp, option the guys they can, and then just let it all play out. No reason to do otherwise at this stage, and they can afford to be patient with the true prospects rather than burning their service time unless someone really stands out.

About the cba and the 50m contract for the loss of draft pick, what if there is vesting options and bonus or team or player options that initially make the contract less than 50m?
Jeffrey Todd
2:31
Assume it's connected to guaranteed money. I'd call a player option a guarantee, but not sure if it'll treat it that way.
Since that's tied to compensation, not the sacrifice by the signing team, less incentive to monkey around with the contract.

You think King Felix is done as an elite SP? He's supposedly working on his lower body this winter...blah, blah, blah...
Jeffrey Todd
2:32
Could well be, but he's not that old and you always bet on talent, all else equal. Can't count on a full return, certainly, esp with declining velo.

What was a young core a few years ago is now starting to hit their 30s (Posey, Crawford, Belt, etc), do the Giants need to get younger?
Jeffrey Todd
2:33
They have kind of placed their bets on that core, with the guys they've added to it. Beyond continuing to draft develop, I think they see this as a window. Just extended Crawford and Belt, after all.

Could Baez headline an Archer deal?
Jeffrey Todd
2:34
I don't think he has really turned into a premium piece. Lots of teams would be intrigued, sure, but there are still big holes in the game. Profile elevated by the WS run, but he's not a headliner for Archer in my view.

You get hired tomorrow as the new Angels GM. Ownership tells you that you need to dump Mike Trout before the end of the winter meetings. They don't want to hear any of that "untradeable" nonsense, they just want to rebuild and right now. Who do you call and what's the most you think you could reasonably request before the other GM hangs up on you?
Jeffrey Todd
2:35
Well, in that case, I'd probably tell rival GMs that we are willing to listen, but no certainty he's dealt. Then let the offers pile up, and pick a few teams to press on for more.
But it's still not happening!!!

If we land McCutchen, does that make us far less likely to still acquire a top-level SP this offseason?
Jeffrey Todd
2:35
I'd say so.

How many teams wouldn't take rich hill on a 1 year full no trade 17mm contract?
Jeffrey Todd
2:36
Basically any team that can afford it and has any hope of contending. He could get that AAV over multiple years.
Mike
2:36
Are we going to have access to the Free Agent Predictions leaderboard?
Jeffrey Todd
2:37
I don't know. Know lots of people are frustrated with that, and also that Tim is trying to work it all out best he can. It's just technical stuff and I have no clue.

If Cutch get's traded and Danny Espinosa get's non tendered, Espinosa looks like a fit as a cheap reliable pick up and solve the Angels 2nd base issue?
Jeffrey Todd
2:38
Yeah I think Espi would end up being traded, more likely. He's a solid piece at 5MM and change.
Joe
2:38
What kind of return should the Mets expect for Jay Bruce or Curtis Granderson?
Jeffrey Todd
2:39
Maybe a solid, not-particularly-cheap reliever.
Matt
2:40
What do you think a Molina extension with the cardinals would look like? 2 years extended for 30 million?
Jeffrey Todd
2:41
Good question, and one I haven't really thought about. I'm not totally sure why they'd feel compelled to address that this winter. Two years of control still, one via option, which is nice. That feels expensive to commit to this far out.

are you the writer that is the wrestling fan if so which baseball player could make a decent wrestler?
Jeffrey Todd

No.
But this is easy: Tebow.
LeftyJesus
2:41
Which lefty RP commands a better contract?

Jerry Blevins or Boone Logan
Jeffrey Todd
2:41
Similar. Both had under the radar strong years.
2:42
Guess Logan feels a bit more boom or bust.
Kyle
2:42
Wilson Ramos, 4 years 60 million? over or under?
