Under.

Sale to Houston for Springer, Bregman, and others?
Jeffrey Todd
2:42
That's way too much.
Two premium young players off the MLB roster? No team would do that.

biggest non-tender surprise?
Jeffrey Todd
2:42
That Jordan Lyles wasn't one?
2:44
New rule: if you repeat questions, like 20x in a minute, you get blocked.
Perhaps this should have been obvious.

Is chris carter a fit on the phillies?
Jeffrey Todd
2:44
Not really. Tommy Joseph.
Ben D
2:44
Surprised with the $5 million hard cap on international spending? Is that really going to spread the talent around more than a draft?
Jeffrey Todd
2:45
I am. It seems light. Don't know that it changes the competitive picture, but it's not good for the international guys.
2:46
Sorry, I'm wading through literally hundreds of the same question from "CUBSFAN123"
Boo this man.
Boone Logan
2:46
Do I count as one of the Logans that the Os are chasing?
Jeffrey Todd
2:46
Good point.
Nathan
2:46
What are the chances Nathan Eovaldi gets signed as a RP ?
Jeffrey Todd
2:47
I mean, in a sense, yeah, that could end up making sense. But he's going to be signed (whenever that occurs) with a chance to start, I think. He's plenty young and has shown enough success at times.

Ryan Howard, 1 year 8 mil? over or under?
Jeffrey Todd
2:48
Way under. Now, that being said, he is still useful as a lefty bench bat. But this market is terrible for such players -- so many sluggers out there. Remember, Pedro Alvarez got 5.5 mil or whatever, much younger and can actually still play the field a little bit. (Heck the O's even trotted him out at third.) And he's out there.

How much money did Wilson Ramos' injury cost him this offseason?
Jeffrey Todd
2:49
$50MM? Of course, if he ends up signing a short deal, he could make it up. But now he has to reestablish himself, etc. Or take less to get multiple years.

Answer good Astros questions or burn in hell

Oh
Moose

I know there was an earlier question about Otani not being able to come over for awhile - why/how exactly is he limited from doing so?
Jeffrey Todd
2:51
It's a practical limitation. If he is subject to bonus limits, then he can't sign for anything approximating his monster value. So, why would he? Another practical question: why would his team let him go now when they can get their $20MM (assuming that rule carries forward) in a future year? (Heck if anything that number ought to go up.)

Guessing I'd be the best trade candidate of the Royal pending FA's. Where am I going? Mets for Wheeler or Conforto?
Jeffrey Todd
2:53
Don't see a match with the Mets. I mean, I'm sure they'd give Wheeler at this point, but KC won't do that. But I agree he's the highest-value guy of that group.
Matt M
2:53
I'm still stuck in school. What should I do?
Jeffrey Todd
2:53
Appreciate that you are young and don't have to work?
Matt M
2:54
With hindsight, Who won the Cespedes-fulmer trade? Mets or Tigers?
Jeffrey Todd
2:54
Win-Win?!
Jeremy
2:54
Where do you suspect EE signs?
Jeffrey Todd
2:54
Guess I like Houston at this point.
Rocky
2:55
Hey Joe... realistically, who do the Tigers trade this offseason? (If they stand pat, they've still got a heckuva team)
Jeffrey Todd
2:56
Still expect a JDM deal. The blah QO compensation only increases that. But I guess they could hold for the deadline if there aren't any good offers.
Jim
2:56
If the Astros miss on EE and Beltran, any chance they trade prospects for Verlander and sign Pearce, rather than giving up a Springer or Bregman to get Sale?
Jeffrey Todd
2:57
I don't know, but I don't see them trading either of those guys (let alone both, as noted above) for Sale. Not enough of an immediate upgrade to warrant that, esp with other options for near-term improvements available.
Omar Daal
2:57
Hosmer to the Phillies?
Jeffrey Todd
2:58
Why would the Phils chase a guy with one year of control?
