No plans so far, but ya never know, I might pop down to Florida.
Jake
2:33
Verdugo, de Leon, and Puig for mccutchen and Harrison. Who says no?
Jeffrey Todd
2:33
Dodgers aren't giving up that kind of value. Harrison is a negative-value asset, IMO. (Not by a lot.)
Pablo Sandoval
2:34
Can I still play baseball?
Jeffrey Todd
2:34
At his age, plenty of reason to think he still can so long as he stays in shape. It's hardly a given, but worth seeing what you have.

Is Trumbo the only guy left of the big sluggers that will be getting more than a one year deal?
Jeffrey Todd
2:35
I'm not convinced he will at this point, though I suppose that's still likely. Don't see why he has to be the only one, though. Some orgs will like the idea of spreading a little more money over two years, perhaps, for a guy like Moss or Valbuena.

Koda Glover or Blake Trienen as closer for the nationals?
Jeffrey Todd
2:36
Still think there'll be an acquisition of some kind. But I don't see Glover getting the job regardless.
To start the year, that is.
For my money, I'd roll with Kelley (when available) and then Treinen/Solis combo otherwise. But as I said, expect they'll bring in a veteran.

What if the Rockies dangled DJ LeMahieu in front of the Dodgers as an alternative to Dozier. Could the Rox still get DeLeon back?
Jeffrey Todd
2:39
Absolutely, Colorado should ask for at least that. He broke out with the bat and was already a very good defender. Plus, he's a little cheaper. (I think.)

Seems the David Robertson to the Nats talk has really cooled. This he still gets traded?
Jeffrey Todd
2:41
Still seems reasonable for him to move, but some of the prospects being batted around in the media never made sense to me. I think there was a bit of a closer rush there. Even if CWS keeps some salary, he shouldn't command a monumental return at his age and given the control problems last year.
Matt Klentak

Harrison is a 2 WAR player, how is he a negative value
Jeffrey Todd
2:42
I mean, I just don't think he'd get the rest of his guarantee on the open market. But I could be wrong.
Ruben
2:43
Do you not answer Reds questions cause you're an idiot who knows nothing?
Jeffrey Todd
2:43
Yes.

Does Hwang make sense in Milwaukee? Possible platoon partner with Shaw?
Jeffrey Todd
2:45
Yeah, that'd have to be the idea. I don't see why not, especially if they think he might be able to play some second (if they trade Villar or consider it at the deadline) or corner OF. Hwang did really show both power and OBP last year in the KBO, isn't that old, and can probably be had for a MLB roster spot and a pretty light guarantee.
Jeff
2:45
Who closes for the Reds?
Jeffrey Todd
2:46
Don't see why Storen wouldn't get the job unless he doesn't look good. Iglesias and Lorenzen are just going to pad their arb earnings if they have the job. Plus both probably ought to throw multiple innings if possible to stay stretched out in case of injury or a desire on the team's part to move them back into the rotation.

Tyson Ross is pitching for....
Jeffrey Todd
2:47
Guess I like the fit with the Rangers best.
Jon Perkins
2:48
Are reds stuck with Brandon Phillips?
Jeffrey Todd
2:48
Hard to imagine what could occur that would get him out of there at this point. Other than a DFA, which doesn't seem to be forthcoming.

DON'T LET THEM BULLY YOU, JEFFREY!!!
Jeffrey Todd
2:49
YEAH!

What's going on with Bautista, honestly?
Jeffrey Todd
2:50
He's old and lost power and can't play D. And it isn't clear his price has really come down that much. There was that report that he'd take one year at QO money, but that isn't really where the market is at right now.
Just seems like he overplayed his hand a bit. That said, nobody should be too surprised if he rakes and makes a lot of teams look stupid.

Mike would have been a free agent at the end of this year. Would 15/400 be reasonable? The angels have 3/100 - The best contract in baseball.
Jeffrey Todd
2:51
10/500?
Is that too crazy?
What would you pay to hire a 25yo Willie Mays?
(Sorry, I can't help but answer one Trout question in every chat.)
Phillip Rivers
2:52
Why doesn't Colorado go all in and offer Bautista or Trumbo some cash on a 2 year deal to play 1B, slide Desmond into OF, and really go for it? It amazes me teams in "win now" mode often don't take that last step. This year there's a ton of help sitting there due to the watered down market.
Jeffrey Todd
2:52
To be fair to the Rox, they might have eyes on doing something just like this, but would first need to find a deal they really like to move an OF.

Thanks for answering Phillips question even though it wasn't mine! How about Cozart? Will he be traded?
