Now there's a possible JDM fit. But will they do it for a rental? Odds are STL isn't going to be leading the division at the deadline, and they're still looking over at the Cubs and even the Pirates.

I kind of get the idea that STL would be interested in someone like Donaldson -- though that seems a reach -- and maybe they'd try to pull off something where they give up 5 years of Grichuk + prospects (or whatever) to get back 2 years of a better veteran player. But they aren't going to go nuts on a move that can only help in '17.

I could see Houston going hard for Fulmer moreso than Teheran.
And I still don't get this idea that the Braves are going to .... I don't know, trade for a high-quality, multi-year starter and then deal away Teheran.

Could see HOU with real interest. That's a great target for them. They have guys that can give good innings. They don't need wins down the stretch. They need a really good starter for a postseason series.

Of course, that assumes the Rangers will sell. As we saw today, deals among rivals can be done. I'm all for it, just b/c it'll make things more interesting as we see how it plays out.
