Have you ever been at a game when a player on the field or dugout was traded?
Jeffrey Todd
3:18
No, but I did take my daughter on a tour of Wrigley the day after Samardzija and Hammel were dealt. Their jerseys were the only ones hanging in the locker room. Was kind of interesting.
3:19
Wait I had that backwards, ha ... their lockers were cleared out. Dummy.
ADAM
3:19
Is Seth Lugo really going to get traded? Are the Cubs still a candidate in acquiring him?
Jeffrey Todd
3:20
No, and that's not what the report suggested. But perhaps some irresponsible folks got ahold of the info -- Cubs like Lugo -- and took it beyond what it really said.
James Franco
3:22
Is Khris Davis likely to be moved? Doesn't have much control left and he hits rockets.
Jeffrey Todd
3:23
No real indication of interest in doing so for OAK and the market doesn't look great.

3:24
Why are so many people enamored with Darvish? His numbers aren't that impressive and he's closer to a middle rotation arm than an ace.
Jeffrey Todd
3:25
He's consistently one of the best pitchers in the game. Not sure how you can say he's a mid-rotation arm when he has pretty clearly been one of the best twenty or so starters in baseball (at least) since arriving.
Totally Chipper Jones
3:27
Is it just me or do the polls you post have not much to do with the surrounding questions?
Jeffrey Todd
3:27
They have nothing to do with the surrounding questions. I just threw some polls in there.
3:28
Okay I'm going to try to grab a few more here before I have to run ....

Marlins did a 180-degree turn with Straily....said to be untouchable not long ago but now Miami is soliciting offers.  Where is he most likely to go and how much of a haul (at least in general) in return?
Jeffrey Todd
3:29
I have a bit of a hard time imagining that a team is going to pivot off of Gray and give up a big package for Straily. But who knows.
He has been better this year than last. And the results over two consecutive seasons are pretty compelling, I guess.
Xavier Foon
3:30
Is there a waiting game to see the price tag on Gray and Yu before SPs really start exchanging hands?
Jeffrey Todd
3:31
It's a matter of allowing the multi-party game of chicken to play out.
Matt
3:31
Has Jed Lowrie fallen off the radar for most teams? Are he and Rajai Davis more likely to be dealt in August?
Jeffrey Todd
3:32
Don't see why. Evidently the Red Sox just preferred Nunez (and/or his price tag).
Think it's still possible both are dealt before the end of the month, but yes, both would be plausible August movers.
Braves
3:33
I've noticed that several of the writers on this site seem to have a blatant dislike for the Braves.  Recently published data shows that the Braves are tied for the second most popular team with Boston and the Cubs, trailing only the Yanks. Not smart to alienate a large portion of baseball fans.
Jeffrey Todd
3:33
This is amazing. Just wanted to publicly thank you for writing it.
3:34
Oh, and I will continue to be as neutral and reasonable as I can with regard to all teams. Any aggrieved parties are welcome, though, to compile a list of the alleged transgressions so that we can evaluate them.
Trade value of Garcia, Adams, for instance. Whether Braves were really going to contend this year. Etc. etc.
Bridich
3:35
will anyone out there trade with me? Bueller? Bueller?
Jeffrey Todd
3:35
Here I thought you had just swung one.
Still want the Rox to get a starter.
Good Questions
3:36
You asked for good questions only. I asked twice on the interesting matter of why trades? and you simply passed on it. maybe you like the easy "who hangs first ..."
Jeffrey Todd
3:36
Perhaps I just can't see all of the thousands of questions.
jim johnson
3:36
is there any trade value for me/
Jeffrey Todd
3:37
He has been pretty good, but I think the Braves will set the price too high to move him because they know they'd rather just keep him for next year than have to go find a replacement.
Dodger Dave
3:38
LoL at nutral. Your a Darvish lover.  He is over rated.
Jeffrey Todd
3:38
Right, so you disagree with me. I must be biased. Please.
Look up numbers and get back to me on Darvish -- I have no reason to like him beyond objective thinking.
Andy
3:39
Best deal I've seen this whole deadline season (from Szymborski) has Nats getting Adam Jones/Brad Brach for some minor league chips. I know that'll never happen unless the O's commit to a rebuild... any signs of them actually trying to upgrade the club for the future? That minor league system is rough right now.
Jeffrey Todd
3:39
Can't fathom the O's would send Jones to DC.
Seems they aren't even willing to talk trades at all.
James Shields
3:40
Will anyone trade for me?
Jeffrey Todd
3:40
Nah.
3:41
I mentioned to Steve yesterday just how awful the trade was to get him. Just very poorly conceived and it turned out far worse than expected, particularly since Tatis is a legit prospect now.
