That is certainly a tale of woe.
Just remember that the results don't matter right now!
Or does that not really help?

Will Nova or Cervelli be traded by September 1st?
Jeffrey Todd
4:01
Guessing no on those.
4:02
Just ... they don't need to rush a decision on either and they both still make sense for 2019. Harrison seems more likely.  Mercer as well.

Do the Cubs add another SP or are the pickings too slim?
Jeffrey Todd
4:04
Eh not sure there's anything that is really worth their while. Though they could always look for someone who'd give rotation depth and the possibility of multiple innings in the postseason ... say, an upgrade over Jorge De La Rosa.
(Yes, I know JDLR had been good in Chicago, but sample size, man.)

So ... you should definitely prep for that possibility and appreciate you may be one of the few Nats fans to witness his final game with the team in person. I advise you to wash down your sorrows at the nearby Falling Rock Tap Room, which is awesome.
Also a great time of year to go climb a mountain if the weather is cooperative!

How do you like Roanoke?  Is it getting more interesting, like so many cities are?  (I'm curious as someone who works in SE VA for a company with ties to Roanoke.)

We love it. Way beyond our expectations. I'm not totally sure I'd have felt that before I had 3 kids, but it is a great place to raise an active family. Love being able to get on the trail so easily and there's enough cultural stuff to do here and within an easy drive. Hidden gem!
Finally made it to a Salem Red Sox game, too.
4:11
I was totally aghast at what I saw.
Home team down 3-1, bottom 6. New pitcher opens inning with back to back walks.

Up strides Salem's best hitter, by leaps and bounds, Josh Tobias - per scoreboard, 486 OBP on the year.
You know what happens next.
Sac bunt. Great call Joe Oliver (Salem skipper and 19-year MLB catcher)!
4:12
TBF they did score 4 runs that inning, but still.

Do you think there will be much interest in McCutchen after the season?

Give or take.

Weren't you the one earlier this year picking PHI over ATL in the NL East?
Jeffrey Todd
4:13
No I had the Nationals.
Then at some point I probably switched to the Phillies, when they held a significant enough advantage. Now, it seems it's the Braves.
4:14
Please understand, I'm just going to give you my best guess at a given moment, all things considered. I am not going to say "Team X is gonna win this thing you can count on it!" And I'm not going to be afraid to allow my opinion to change based upon new evidence.

Should I take a similar extension deal to Flow's or will some sucker, er, team give me 3 years guaranteed for big bucks if I walk?
Jeffrey Todd

He'll get more than Flowers just signed for. Of course, I also thought Flowers would be able to get more in FA than he just signed for.

Hi Jeff. It was literally impossible for Murphy to be QOd again... In the CBA players can only be QOd once.

Darn it. Yes.
Just ignore everything I say in a chat.

Do you think the Angels would take back the Pujols deal if they could?
