Do you think the Red Sox will sell high on any players like Bradley or Porcello?
Jeffrey Todd
4:07
Not sure either guy looks particularly like a "sell-high" candidate so much as a solid-value veteran who fits nicely right where he is.

Why do down on the Reds chances to win? Senzel in CF gives us a very good offense. Our relief pitching is above average. If we can sign a couple good starting pitchers there is no reason we can’t compete. What have I got wrong?
Jeffrey Todd
4:11
Well, Senzel has never played there, and hasn't yet proven he can produce in the majors. Obv has the talent/reputation to suggest he'll thrive but that's no given. Remainder of the OF mix has uncertainty as well. It's always possible a guy or two will slide back a bit elsewhere. The rotation has a few interesting pieces but remains in much worse shape than most in baseball (certainly most any contender). And the relief unit is really not actually that compelling on the whole, far as I'm concerned, in no small part b/c Hughes and Hernandez are obvious regression candidates and Iglesias/Lorenzen outperformed their peripherals last year as well.
I'm not dismissive of the Cinci chances, just realistic as to the challenges. Esp in a very tough division.

Do you think yankees have now moved back into the lead for Machado.. They seem to be the only one connected to him at the moment
Jeffrey Todd
4:14
I don't believe that free agent signings, generally, are a race. The Yankees remain one of the most sensible fits, though, IMO.

Over/Under- yanks get 2 of Machado, Corbin, Kluber, Miller
Jeffrey Todd
4:17
You mean Andrew Miller? Not sure that's a guy who's that interesting to consider. I mean, sure, he's possible, but I prefer to think of this question with another regular position player or SP. So ... I'm changing the hypothetical for a poll.
Will Yanks get 2 of Machado, Corbin, Kluber, Paxton?

Tony Watson and a prospect for Shwarber?
Jeffrey Todd
4:19
Watson had a really nice year, but Schwarbs is worth more than that.
Giants
4:20
Rate from most to least likely Giants traded this winter: Shark, MadBum, Belt, Melancon, and Longo.
Jeffrey Todd
4:20
This is kind of tough but I'll try ...
4:21
Melancon > MadBum > Shark > Longo > Belt
man I'd probably do that differently every time, ha
4:22
I'm guessing Farhan will think Belt is worth keeping and won't want to just pare his contract. Longo is going to have a minimal market. Shark ... hard to say b/c of the injuries but he's a bad contract candidate.
4:23
Obv hard to imagine they'll sell low on MadBum but I can imagine some scenarios where teams offer surprisingly appealing pieces. And Melancon ... he was back to being a good reliever so wouldn't be super hard to work out some kind of a contract swap. There's another Jay Bruce fit!

Kluber is 33 years old.  I know he is an ace but this is not 4 years of an under 30 Chris Sale at rock bottom price type.
Jeffrey Todd
4:24
He's not as valuable as Sale was, agreed. But ... go find me another ace that is even hypothetically available. ... There isn't one.
Paxton is the closest thing. But he's only controlled for 2 years and has health concerns.

Does Adam Jones Retire, Re-Sign with The Orioles, or Sign with another team?
Jeffrey Todd
4:26
sign with another team
Really don't think he'll get big money ... like 1/6-8?
Geff bodd
4:27
Do the A’s trade Khris Davis
Jeffrey Todd
4:27
I still think they'll work out a 2-3 year deal with him.
Manny Machado
4:29
What club house am I going to destroy next?
Jeffrey Todd
4:29
I think most of the "takes" on Manny are wrong.
I don't think his rep around the game was so completely shattered by the few things that took place late.
4:30
But I also think he did cost himself market positioning ability. Whether that translates to lost money isn't yet clear (and won't ever really be knowable). But he definitely left an easy out on the table for teams that were borderline on pursuing him. And if he annoyed even one owner so much that he hurt the interest level, that hurts his ability to draw bids.

your guess biggest named fa pitcher the braves sign thanks
Jeffrey Todd

Trevor Cahill?
I think it's likelier they add a bigger name via trade.

If I were to actually Trade Edwin Diaz, where do you think I would get the best deal?
Jeffrey Todd
4:34
I don't know, but have to think Dave Dombrowski would be in on this. Braves, Phillies, perhaps Nats, Cubs, Cards, Rockies ... many possibilities and you could imagine some interesting packages.
Jeff Bagwell

Odds of Charlie Freaking Morton making his way back to HOU?
Jeffrey Todd
4:35
Now seems rather low. I think the east coast teams - esp Phillies and Nats - have to be feeling quite hopeful.

Am I crazy to think at all that the Reds have a legitimate chance to land Keuchel?
Jeffrey Todd
4:37
He's from Oklahoma, so geography is fairly favorable. If they'll outbid the market, seems plausible. Not sure they will or should.
Oakland A's
4:38
Reports are out that the A's want to bring back Kurt Suzuki, do you see this happening?
