I don't think the Mets will pull the plug on BVW after one year, even though it has been atrocious
Joe Kelly
7:08
Should I just wait until WS starts?
Connor Byrne
7:09
You'll need to pitch well enough to get on the Dodgers' WS roster first (if they make it, of course)
GM
7:09
What GM should update his resume?
Connor Byrne
7:10
Tough to find GMs/presidents who are clearly in hot water right now. Even the game's worst teams are being patient with their top baseball decision-makers.
Padres
7:10
Will I ever return to the playoffs?
Connor Byrne
7:11
Very soon, though it would help to stop signing guys like Hosmer and Myers to big deals.
Positively Half St.
7:11
Strasburg is having a great year but almost nobody is paying attention. Do you think he will opt out of his contract? Should he?
Connor Byrne
7:12
He'll at least have to give it serious thought. He'd be the second-best starter out there after Cole. Could Strasburg top the $100MM left on his deal? Not wholly unreasonable, in my opinion.
Jeff Luhnow
7:13
I like Stroman and Lance Lynn.  Who is more reasonable for me to acquire?
Connor Byrne
7:13
The answer, Astros GM Jeff Luhnow, is Stroman. He's more available than Lynn, and the Astros have been linked to Stroman.
Greg Amsinger
7:13
Would you believe me if I told you Shin-Soo Choo has a better career WAR than Harold Baines?   Choo for the Hall?
Connor Byrne
7:14
I wouldn't be shocked. No disrespect to Baines, who had a way better career than most, but that was one off HOF pick.
odd*
Eric Hosmer
7:14
Hey wait blog dude I'm having a good year you want to give it a try? How dare you put me in the same sentence as Wil the choke Myers.
Connor Byrne
7:15
Is a .769 OPS for a first baseman ever "good," let alone one who's making a lot of money?
Protective Netting
7:16
Are you a fan?  Chi Sox first game with it tonight.  Will more teams go to this?
Connor Byrne
7:16
Yes, I'm all for protective netting. There's no need to put your life at risk to watch a baseball game. People sitting behind the nets would stop noticing fairly quickly, I think.
Maxmilian
7:16
Is Andrew Friedman the best GM in baseball?
Connor Byrne
7:17
Technically, Friedman's a president - not a GM - but he's in the discussion for best exec.
Stadiums
7:17
Your favorite? Least?
Connor Byrne
7:17
Haven't been to either, but San Fran & Seattle are at the top in terms of places I like seeing on TV. Tropicana Field, not so much.
Shan
7:19
You said you think it’s tough to find GMs/presidents in hot water. What about Mo? St.Louis fans are ready to see him go
Connor Byrne
7:19
I don't think John Mozeliak's in much of any danger at this point.
kc
7:19
who do you see A's acquiring?
Connor Byrne
7:20
A starter and/or a reliever? Probably nobody at the top of the heap of available guys, though.
PNC Park
7:20
I'm affordable, have great food, and offer the best view in baseball.  Prove me wrong.
Connor Byrne
7:20
Yes, the Pirates' stadium also tends to generate rave reviews
Average Fan
7:21
Are there any contenders NOT looking for a starter and/or reliever?
Connor Byrne
7:21
It doesn't seem like it, does it?
Nats
7:22
Derek Holland to the A's for Jordan Diaz
Connor Byrne
7:22
I don't think Holland's bringing back anything of value.
Eppler
7:22
Grade my run as Angels GM. (5best-1worst) free agents, trades, farm
Connor Byrne
7:23
A 4, I guess. I like most of what Eppler has done, including restocking the farm. At least last offseason's awful pitching signings (Harvey, Cahill, Allen) weren't for more than one year.
Also, the Angels extended Trout under him. I know he's not the one controlling the $, but that's a huge feather in Eppler's cap
7:24
A few more...
Busch
7:24
Jose Martinez/Wacha (+ a little $$ if needed) for AJ Puk...who says no?
Connor Byrne
7:25
Oakland. Martinez isn't doing much at the plate this year & has no defensive value. Wacha's been a catastrophe this year.
GIANTS
7:25
Does Will Smith’s recent blown saves affect his trade value come the 31st?
Connor Byrne
7:25
Not by much, if at all. Still one of the best relievers in the game, still affordable, still tons of teams looking for bullpen help.
