First off, he won't even finish his trial until after the season starts. Then, jail time (if it happens). Then, a suspension, when it would be relatively easy for Manfred to nail him to the wall (again, if he's convicted).
And if he actually isn't a US citizen -- this still isn't clear, far as I know -- there really could be immigration consequences.

But seriously, I don't think Andrus is 100% guaranteed to hold the job all year. But he'll have every chance not to lose it.
And I really don't know that Profar will end up at SS. Just seems risky with the shoulder, even if he's capable of making the throws for the time being. But I'm sure their doctors know quite a bit more about that than I do.

Yes, he's old. But he's still amazing. Even last year, with his thumb about to fall off, he battled through and was worth like 5 WAR. 3/60 isn't all that much money, and unlike most of the slugger types still hanging around at that age, Beltre might well still be the best defensive player at his position in the game.
Now, will they do it? I'm sure they'll try not to. Could certainly see two guaranteed and a vesting options based on an attainable PA level, with the value floating based on just how many PAs he makes.

Hmmm. I guess I disagree about Belt not being that type of player. Better offensive numbers than Heyward (OPS+ 12 points better), and an elite defender that makes the entire Giant's IF better. And, I'm guessing that you don't think being a left-handed thrower is important at 1B, which I also disagree about.

Can you sum up why the braves have such a crap tv deal? Was it when they signed it? Did something change shortly after that made other teams deals so much higher in $ value?

In a nutshell: it was signed before cable TV realized that live sports -- esp baseball, which has so many games -- was the best thing it had going to remain relevant.

Gallo can play first, DH, or play outfield. Don't see why he'd just be outright blocked or have to be traded. Remember, they'll lose Moreland after the year.
