I realize he did what he did last year, but that's a big ask. Pitchers will adjust. Love the guy, though!

Joint question, who has more saves this year and who has a better future as a closer: Strickland or Quakenbush?
Jeffrey Todd
4:18
Strickland is my guy. Love him. Drafted him in the MLBTR league in anticipation of him being a beast and eventually taking over the 9th.

Would Brewers start Josh Hader service clock this year? Who does he compares to? Sale??
Jeffrey Todd
4:19
They might give him a late-season call-up, with the expectation that he could be delayed again next year. He's a rising prospect, but seems refinement is what he needs most, so why rush him up?

Odds on the Tribe making the playoffs?
Jeffrey Todd
4:20
They are my pick in the ALC, but that means they are like 25% likely to win the division, in my estimation. Wide open.

Jeff Sullivan over at Fangraphs wrote about different types of baseball dorks... Which type are you: Hitting, Fielding or Pitching?
Jeffrey Todd
4:21
Catching. (Haven't read that yet, will have to check it out.)

I thought 100k was a joke for Major League Baseball Teams, today I was proven wrong.
Jeffrey Todd
4:21
It's not like they just hand it out on the street corner.

4:22
Hey, my son will kick butt this season!
Jeffrey Todd
4:23
Hey, I was not suggesting otherwise! Really enjoy watching him.
Mark
4:23
On a scale of 1-10 (if 1 is not very and 10 is extremely), how annoying are fantasy type questions for guys like you?
Jeffrey Todd
4:23
I don't get a lot in here, actually. I don't mind, but will maybe only answer a couple here or there.

You have to remember that Trout didn't initially light the world on fire in his first september call up
Jeffrey Todd
4:25
I do remember this. In fact, I think I noted it in a chat a few weeks ago. Regardless, he's not a realistic standard for any player. Sure, Buxton's tools give him that kind of ceiling, but you just can't compare people to greatest-of-all-time types (through this point in his career) like Trout.

Best 5th starter in baseball in your eyes? (Excluding prospects in the minors like Giolito)
Jeffrey Todd
4:26
The answer to this could well be, "whoever the Mets' 5th starter is at any given point in the season."
Jiminy Gobsmack
4:26
Do the Mets have any glaring weaknesses or do the fans just like to whine?
Jeffrey Todd
4:27
Glaring weakness? No, not in the sense that there's an area they "didn't address" or some such. But they are vulnerable in spots -- injury, especially, I think. Staff's innings, Wright's back.
Steve
4:27
When do you expect Gasnow to be called up?
Jeffrey Todd
4:27
After the Super Two cutoff.
Jerry
4:27
Kratz is old I can't believe he has trade value
Jeffrey Todd
4:27
He doesn't. This was a spare-parts deal.
4:28
Think of it like one of those secret santa swaps at an office Christmas party. You're all giving things you don't need. Someone ends up with something more valuable than someone else ... eh, who cares? Hopefully you entered with something you didn't need, and left with something marginally useful.
4:29
"I got a Kratz!" you shout with glee.
Gio
4:29
after finishing Harvard law school, what made you decide not to pursue a career in law?
Jeffrey Todd
4:29
I worked for five years as a lawyer. So, what you're asking is, what made me leave that career? More than anything, wanted to get away from ladder climbing, to be honest.
Lou
4:30
Why was Trea Turner sent to AAA?
Jeffrey Todd
4:30
He's not a finished product, and they have sufficient options in the majors, and maybe a little service time consideration sprinkled in too.

Are the late chat times the new norm?
Jeffrey Todd
4:31
Sorry for the inconsistency there. Today was tough b/c Steve is still gone and the Article XX(B) mania was happening. We'll always aim for 2 CST-ish whenever possible, though.
C4
4:31
Which prospect are you most excited to make their debut this year?
Jeffrey Todd
4:32
Giolito

4:32
Love your work and you will never work a day in your life
Jeffrey Todd
4:33
Making this actually happen is probably easier said than done, but yeah, I think that's probably true.
Mike
4:33
So does this mean Lazarito is waiting to sign or trying to get the Dodgers to raise their offer?
Jeffrey Todd
4:33
Seems he's waiting for the new July 2 period.

we all know Trout won't get traded but does this peak their interest: Urias, Puig, Kiki, Turner, De Leon, Barnes. Helps short term as well as restocks farm
