If there was, he'd have signed already. Camp is sort of over.
Master P
2:47
Any rookies this year that make a similar impact as to what Carlos Correa did last year?
Jeffrey Todd
2:48
Probably not. Last year's rookie class was amazing, and also took lots of the amazing near-MLB prospects out of rookie status.

2:48
What's the difference between being outrighted and just demoted?
Jeffrey Todd
2:49
Outrighted means the player is removed from the 40-man roster. They are exposed to waivers, so any other team can claim them. The other way to move a guy from the big league roster to the minors is to keep him on the 40-man but option him. You don't lose the player, he goes to the minors. But you can only do this for 3 years (usually).

Any chance the Cubs package Vogelbach with Soler + 2 more prospects in an attempt to get Gray from Oakland?
Jeffrey Todd
2:49
Sounds light.

2:50
Do you think Kyle Seager is overrated?
Jeffrey Todd
2:50
No, but expectations may be a little high for him this year.
Er ... wrong Seager
2:51
Maybe expectations are too high for Kyle, as well as Corey. But I don't think he's overrated. He's a steady, above-average regular. Very productive player, not a great one.

2:52
Will Pirates ever going to keep Freese at third and move Kang to short?
Jeffrey Todd
2:52
I think they'll end up mixing and matching, but I do think Kang ends up displacing Mercer some at short, yeah.
Chris
2:53
If A-Rod decides to keep playing after 2017, do you see any teams taking a chance on him? if so, which teams would take him to see him chase Bonds' record?
Jeffrey Todd
2:53
What if he is really close to or tied with Bonds after 2017, and Miami signs BOTH of them for a one-season run to see who gets the record?

2:54
Chi Sox looking at Miguel Gonzalez. Would it be a good fit? What can he do?
Jeffrey Todd
2:55
Well he's long outperformed his peripherals, so in some sense his terrible 2015 wasn't surprising. But you'd still have expected him to be at least a serviceable back-end starter. CWS obviously feels it could stand to have more depth, and the O's are paying enough cash that Gonzalez might be free (or, at least, will be pretty cheap). Makes sense to me.

2:56
Do you think the Twins are being overlooked? Not overwhelming in certain areas, but you have to love their depth. Plus, there's a nice mix of power and speed in that line-up...
Jeffrey Todd
2:57
Maybe a little, yeah. They have some serious upside in spots on that roster, though there's downside as well. Will be fun to watch them this year.
Justin
2:57
Whats your take on the Tigers' return for Holaday?
Jeffrey Todd
2:58
I'm going to try to memorize it for future spring training chats when people ask "what can team x get for player y", where player y isn't that good
Chandler
2:58
Who has the best 1,2,3 punch in terms of SP this year? Cleveland? Washington? Detroit?
Jeffrey Todd
2:58
It's probably between the Indians and Mets for me.
Ramon
2:59
Why is Alex Guerrero still on LA's roster? He doesn't have a clear position and LA clearly doesn't want him?
Jeffrey Todd
3:00
Well, I'd have thought they'd have traded him if any kind of interesting scenario came up. It hasn't, and they somehow haven't been forced into a decision to punt him from the roster yet, so ... there he is. I think it'll happen sooner than later, though, because at some point they just won't be able to keep him on the active roster.
Mike Hunt
3:01
Do the Dodgers have any interest in trading Urias?
Jeffrey Todd
3:02
Probably would've happened already if they did.
otto
3:02
my personal feeling is that Rob Manfred will wimp out & give Reyes 30 games like Chapman....what do the Rockies do then? let him ride the bench, negotiate a payment deal like the Mets did with Bonilla, or just release him outright? living in Denver, you know the Monforts hold onto their money like a fist full of glue
Jeffrey Todd
3:02
I'd be shocked. I think he will get much more.
3:03
Regardless, I'm not sure he'll ever play for the org again, at least if Story shows he's capable of playing more or less every day. That being said, the charges being dropped makes it far more likely he'll be ablet o continue his career -- if nothing else, he would've had to wait to start the suspension until after the trial, jail time, etc.

3:05
With Singleton being optioned, and Tyler White earning 1B and Reed in waiting, does Singleton ever put on an Astros uniform again?
Jeffrey Todd
3:05
He might not. But there's a DH slot, and he's optionable, and there's loads of upside in his contract. So there's a good chance he gets another crack this year or beyond.

3:06
What r the O"s going to do with Kim if he will not go to the minors? Thanks!
Jeffrey Todd
3:06
Fold and put him on the OD roster or get what they can from a KBO club to send him back, I guess.
ATX Halo
3:07
Sandoval contract top 5 worst?
Jeffrey Todd
3:07
Off the top of my head .. not sure it is quite expensive enough to reach that, and he's young. But top ten, at least? Sure.
Ted
3:08
More likely that Billy Hamilton returns to hitting leadoff everyday or returns to the minors?
Jeffrey Todd
3:09
Well, hitting leadoff is just the manager's decision. But if you mean becomes truly capable of hitting leadoff, I'd take the minors side of the bet. But he's not a leadoff hitter. He should be at the bottom of the order, and I think he'll do enough to stay there rather than getting sent down.
Kevin
3:09
Are the Nationals still relevant or just a shell of their former glory?
Jeffrey Todd
3:10
Remind me, which year are we in in the Nats' win/disappoint cycle? Ah yes, the win - THEN- disappoint year, not the plain old disappoint year.
