I don't know that I'd count Sano as an OF in the long run, but regardless, there isn't enough certainty yet for them to be making decisions. Think they'll let it play out.

Do you think we'll see ads on MLB jerseys anytime soon?
Jeffrey Todd
2:49
Ugh, hope not.
Odin

Is my son, Thor, the best pitcher in baseball right now?
Jeffrey Todd
2:51
You raised him well. Maybe right at this exact moment in time, but I'd still take Kershaw. Of course, if we were talking contract value ... Noah might be on top as things stand.
Torin
2:51
Joey Rickard > Billy Hamilton?
Jeffrey Todd
2:52
I mean, it's definitely possible. But that's a tough scouting question. Wouldn't make the call just based on Rickard's early numbers, but he's shown enough to make you believe that the underlying skill can play at the MLB level.

I got fired for my computer history showing mlbtr chat.... can I have a job for being loyal
Jeffrey Todd
2:53
Seriously? You're probably better off not working for that company, then.

Game of Thrones Sunday.... Are you ready?????
Jeffrey Todd
2:54
Never understood the appeal.

Do think the Astros might be selling at the deadline? Like somewhat like a retooling?
Jeffrey Todd
2:54
A minor retool could happen if they can't pull out of the basement, but there's plenty of time.
Evan
2:55
Do you think Ausmus learned from his mistakes with Joe Nathan and will remove Krod from the closer role? His stuff is flat and control is gone.
Jeffrey Todd
2:55
His track record is pretty darn good, I think they'll give him time to figure it out.
Uhoh @RangerBlake
Rangers have placed RHP Keone Kela on the 15 day DL with right elbow impingement. RHP Phil Klein has been recalled from Round Rock.
Matt
2:56
How soon till the Chi Sox call up Tim Anderson with how bad Rollins is doing?
Jeffrey Todd
2:56
Has he really been that bad? Slightly below average bat - can't have expected much more.
2:57
And probably can't expect much more from Anderson, who will also carry additional risk. Plus, service time/future arb $.

Likelihood that Bruce is a Red in August?
Jeffrey Todd
2:57
As low as any other established MLBer out there. He seems like an obvious trade piece.

Hey Jeff. I'm sure you've already heard of Prince's passing. Do you have a favorite Prince song?
Jeffrey Todd
2:58
I did. Can't say I was an avid listener, so I don't have one, but always sucks to see a respected artist depart too soon.

how short is tommy milone leash when the twins have berrios, meyer, and duffy all pitching great in AAA all sub 2 era and all 3 striking people out
Jeffrey Todd
2:58
Think it relates more to how ready they really think those guys are to come up (or, in some cases, come back up) to stay.
Shay
2:59
What kind of package could the Rockies get this deadline for CarGo?
Jeffrey Todd
2:59
A huge one if he keeps this up. But unclear whether they'll deal him, especially since they could be hanging around.

If the jays were to trade Tulo where could we see him go? What would the Jays get in return ...Prospects? ?
Jeffrey Todd
3:00
Don't see this happening. Would depend so, so much on what happens in the next few months, esp in his case.

With the Beltre extension, is Gallo a trade chip now? Or do the Rangers wait until the offseason and use him as Moreland's replacement? Seems like a waste of a cannon of an arm...
Jeffrey Todd
3:01
I think he could be, but doesn't have to be. He's an obvious replacement for Moreland, as you note, and could also factor in the outfield for a bit. Even if you're not letting the arm play much at first, there are worst skills to waste -- it isn't like he looks to be a Beltre-level third baseman overall.

White Sox get Freddy Freeman and Erick Aybar. Braves get Avisail Garcia, Brett Lawrie, Jacob May, and Spencer Adams. Who hangs up first?
Jeffrey Todd
3:01
Impossible to answer because the conversation doesn't occur in the first place.

If Felix Hernandez were to retire right now would he be in the hall of fame?
Jeffrey Todd
3:02
No, and that's no slight to him.

grilli for susac. who says no?
Jeffrey Todd
3:02
Grilli has seven walks and eight strikeouts so far.
Jonathan
3:03
Any concern over David Price?
Jeffrey Todd
3:03
No more or less than other top level starters who aren't really pitching that great - Kluber, Scherzer also come to mind. They are all too good not to turn it around, and there's no real evidence that I'm aware of that they've suffered some huge erosion of skill.
