I love this take.
Brad
3:35
What are the Braves going to do with Aybar?
Jeffrey Todd
3:36
Cry into their beers and maybe eventually release him? Seriously, though, he has a ways to go to reviving any trade value. They'll let him to try do that through Aug. 1 and then into the revocable waiver trade period.
The real Kershaw
3:36
Can you once and for all tell everyone who's the best pitcher in the plant
Jeffrey Todd
3:36
No question in my mind it's Kershaw.

are the royals gonna miss the postseason
Jeffrey Todd
3:37
I'd have guessed yes already, now I'll say it with more conviction.

Jeffrey Todd
3:37
Indeed. I celebrate the 2015 Royals. Who knows? Maybe they'll shock again.
Tom
3:38
Are the White Sox ever going to get DH that can hit?
Jeffrey Todd
3:38
Lots of White Sox questions. Another team that's going to get some MLBTR treatment in coming days. I'll just say this: it's really hard to trade for guys this time of year, but it seems they are trying. And so long as they can hang in contention, I think they'll add when it's possible to do so.

Why dont the Yankees sign Greg Holland. 2 year deal could be worth it if he comes back healthy and pitches well next season.
Jeffrey Todd
3:39
Holland may be waiting to return to health and show teams what he's got before signing. No recent news on him at all.
San Fran
3:40
What high leverage reliever should we be looking to trade for?
Jeffrey Todd
3:40
Dunno, market looking a little thin for premium relievers as things stand.
Georgie

Hey Jeff, I really enjoy your articles on MLBTR. But I just wanted to suggest you not write "of course" in every piece you write. You write it in literally every article and it gets annoying to read as a reader. Was going to leave this in a comment but figured it would be easier to get your attention here. Keep up the good work, man.
Jeffrey Todd
3:41
This seems like a fair criticism, given that I caught myself typing it in consecutive sentences earlier today. Thanks for the constructive thoughts!
Ben
3:41
Do you just hate answering questions about the Rangers?
Jeffrey Todd
3:42
Totally. That's why I spun a Lucroy question into something about TEX.
Adam
3:42
James shields is really struggling with 6 losses this season, is this from a lack of leadership and not getting his teammates to hit?
Jeffrey Todd
3:42
His grit must be in decline.
Adam
3:43
justin to smoak to the mets?
Jeffrey Todd
3:43
Just don't see Jays making those kinds of moves right now. He's been good, they need the bat.

hay jeff... what are the cubs looking for to make that extra jump for the rest of the season and playoffs.. a left fielder, lefty relief pitcher, another starter???
Jeffrey Todd
3:44
That looks like a solid start to a wish list. Not sure any single area stands out to me. We're talking about supplementing an already-excellent roster.
Beau
3:45
Ian Desmond has started to look like the steal of the FA off season, Odor has grown into a legit MLB 2Bman, Mazara looks great and the Matt Bush gamble appears to be paying off. Does Jon Daniels & the deep Rangers farm system get the credit they deserve?
Jeffrey Todd
3:45
Probably not. They are in solid shape in a lot of ways.
alex
3:46
Do you see Carlos Rodon as a potential ace?
Jeffrey Todd
3:46
Hasn't shown the command to be that, but his walk rate is down and he's learning on the job in the majors to some extent.
Wally
3:47
Jbj gold glove now that hes hitting?
Jeffrey Todd
3:47
His defensive metrics are down!

You should do a chat featuring bad fan trade proposals it would be amusing
Jeffrey Todd
3:48
true
@Sullivan_Ranger
Rangers will call up Profar when Odor starts suspension
3:49
That's kinda fun! Please send in all of your Profar trade proposals.
Algernon
3:49
So exactly how good is steven matz? ace?
Jeffrey Todd
3:49
He is very impressive. Amazing that they have another guy who is now looking like a young TOR starter.

What is your opinion on teams selling / buying draft picks the way Atlanta and Baltimore have?
Jeffrey Todd
3:50
It fits in their differing strategies right now. BAL had already punted its top pick, ATL is looking to build up draft spending capacity. I do think it odd that only a handful of choices are capable of being traded. League approves all salary-dumping trades, etc, so why not open it up completely?
Coppy

What the heck happened to Aybar? He was decent in LA just a year or two ago.
