Question is how teams see the glove, really. Easy enough to buy into the bat, even after he stunk last two years, because of the long-term track record.
And Cozart is their other best chip, IMO.

Do you think the Padres will trade Matt Kemp before the All-Star break, after the All-Star break, or after the season is over?
Jeffrey Todd
2:23
Any of the above, if anyone really wanted him. He just recorded his first walk in OVER A MONTH the other night. That's crazy!
Jay
2:23
How do you like Angels' Crom/Marte experiment?
Jeffrey Todd
2:24
Is that the new name of the band formerly known as "Nava & Gentry"?
meh
Bryce Harper

Why isn't anyone talking about me anymore?
Jeffrey Todd
2:24
Not gonna lie, you aren't looking too comfy at the plate.

He'll get it together, though.

I've noticed a lot of people in the Brewers blogosphere don't much believe the possibility of Braun being traded this summer. Am I crazy, or does it actually seem more likely than ever? He's performing very well, contract isn't actually that bad (and his salary actually decreases per year), and many contenders seem to be in need of a corner OF bat.
Jeffrey Todd
2:25
More likely than ever, yes. But it's not crazy to believe he won't be moved -- I can see both sides.

If the dodgers don't make the playoffs, is Friedman fired within minutes?
Jeffrey Todd
2:25
No. But things start to get interesting looking ahead at 2017.

2:26
Is Lucroy the prized position player to be had this summer?
Jeffrey Todd
2:26
Catcher is a weird spot - he'll kind of have his own market. Not like a slugging outfielder that could pretty much fit on any team in baseball.
But yeah, I think he'll end up being the biggest chip moved.

With his rebound, is it time to trade Harvey for a significant bat?
Jeffrey Todd
2:27
In the middle of a playoff race? Pretty unlikely.
Sam
2:27
Anyway Giants are willing to take on Butler's contract to pry away Hill from the A's? I know Butler's awful, but Giants need RH bats, especially against LA and their mostly LH starting rotation
Jeffrey Todd
2:28
He's not really an NL player. Really weird fit in SF. I'm sure they could figure something else out if they want Hill.

Can you see Stanton going to the Dodgers?
Jeffrey Todd
2:28
Marlins are 2 games back of the Mets.

Does Schwarber, Baez, Almora, CJ Edwards and another P land Trout?
Jeffrey Todd
2:29
no

How underrated have I been this year?
Jeffrey Todd
2:30
The Red Sox' favorite son underrated?! Now I've heard everything. You're awesome and we all know it.
Jason
2:30
Better odds of Gallo getting traded or getting called up and sticking?
Jeffrey Todd
2:30
I'll say 30% trade, 40% stick, 30% hang out in minors til there's an injury or September rolls around.
2:31
Just spitballing. Fun guy to watch for sure.
Stinger
2:31
Sean Doolittle's performance + contract - health history = what kind of trade value?
Jeffrey Todd
2:32
Pretty solid. I think you view it as a guy who is pumping heat from the left side right now and basically comes with contractual upside in the future. Not like you're counting on him to perform at a high rate in every year of that deal, but he doesn't have to.
Plus it's easier to fill in for injured relievers than any other position.

2:33
Do you thing the Yankees will ever call-up Aaron Judge or will they trade him first?
Jeffrey Todd
2:33
I'd guess call up, but I am not sure why folks are clamoring for that right now. He's struggling.
Dan Duquette
2:34
Does a Trumbo and Walker or Mancini Trade get made for a Harvey and Wheeler? Or would the Mets want more in return?
Jeffrey Todd
2:35
I think this proposal is made in earnest. I get that you'd want to value Trumbo and some O's prospects highly. But that's nothing the Mets would remotely consider. Remember, Trumbo is a FA after the year. And he's certainly not as good as Harvey (non-broken version).

with the recent call up of Willson Contreras. Does the trade rumor of the yankees and Cubs making a deal for Chapman and or Miller seam more likely
Jeffrey Todd
2:35
No effect.
Matt Klentak
2:36
Is it to early to call the Hamels trade a win-win? Eickhoff has a 3.40 ERA and the big 3 prospects are all progressing
Jeffrey Todd
2:36
No, I don't think so. Things could still change the final analysis, but I think both sides got what they wanted. Remember, when looking at what traded prospects become, you have to look at it as something of a purchase of odds of different outcomes.
