Harvey for Mookie Betts not right now though
Jeffrey Todd
5:40
Not now, not ever.
Ludicrous speed
5:41
How ludicrous would it be to see harper and trout both in the Yankees outfield in the future? If any team could pay $60 million a yearr for two players it would be the Yankees right?
Jeffrey Todd
5:41
If by ludicrous you mean unrealistic, then yeah. Any team in baseball would figure out a way to make it work to get those two at that price.

5:41
What will trading Urias bring back? We need a ring this year. What will it take?
Jeffrey Todd
5:41
Not happening.
Andrew
5:42
Norris and Vizcaino to the Rangers for Profar? too much? too little? about right?
Jeffrey Todd
5:43
No way they are giving Profar for that, IMO. And nobody is giving big value for Bud Norris. (Ditto Dan Straily.)
AJ Preller

Does Jon Jay AND Fernando Rodney get me Christian Arroyo from the Giants?
Jeffrey Todd
5:43
Nope
SpongeBob

Should Thor's elbow be a major concern going forward?
Jeffrey Todd
5:44
I mean, no, because they say it's not a big concern and they aren't shutting him down or anything. But he's had little flare-ups and the innings are an issue. Not much they can do but let him pitch and watch closely.
I've been harping on the innings/health thing re NYM since last fall, and we're just seeing the inevitable issues arise here and there. Fortunately nothing major so far.

Where's a good fit for Zack Cozart??
Jeffrey Todd
5:45
I'm going to write a post addressing this very soon.

Was pretty surprised most of the MLBTR writers favored holding Tehran (you being the exception if memory serves). I'm sure every team is talking about competing next year, but does anyone think the Braves will?
Jeffrey Todd
5:46
Nobody really thinks they look like a likely contender next year, but he's controllable beyond that.

I'm tired of people underrating Teheran. Just because he had a mediocre season last year, people forget of his super high ceiling. In 2011, top 3 prospects went Trout, Harper, Teheran. He's a great pitcher and deserves a lot more credit. Your thoughts?
Jeffrey Todd
5:47
Final one on Teheran ... I don't know about the ceiling. He doesn't throw nearly as hard as he did when he broke in, and draft status isn't just about ceiling (far from it, really). The overperformance of peripherals thing is cause for some concern. Eno Sarris just wrote about this -- it's not really a reason to think he's just purely better than we realize.
5:48
That being said, results are there, he's young and cheap and controllable. No reason to think he isn't a quality MLB starter. But he's a better asset than he is a pitcher, in a way.

Matt Kemp's OBP is back in the high .300's over the past half month. How much money would the Padres have to eat to get rid of him?
Jeffrey Todd
5:48
Lots.

5:50
Assuming he's healthy by the deadline, does Steve Pearce and his 156 wRC+ become a good trade chip? One year deal and not worth a QO so no reason for Rays to hold onto him.
Jeffrey Todd
5:50
Certainly possible. I've always been a fan, but he keeps getting hurt. Wouldn't expect a ton in return but he could be a pretty nice piece if he bounces back quickly and keeps hitting.

Come up north to Arlington!
Jeffrey Todd
5:51
Been there and done that too!
I mean, how much do you think Tim pays me?!

Baseball questions please!!!
Jeffrey Todd
5:51
Oops sorry.
Steven
5:51
Should the angels wait it out or should they start to consider trading escobar , smith , street , shoemaker and calhoun to rebuild the farm system?
Jeffrey Todd
5:53
This is the entire problem. You aren't rebuilding anything with Yunel/Joe/Huston -- only Escobar has much value right now, and he's not the type to draw a big return. And if you part with the other two, you're giving up long-term value and kind of punting on 2016.
So ... tough spot.
AJ Preller
5:53
Is there a market for Ryan Buchter? He's a relative unknown but pitching very well. Maybe a LOOGY for a contender?
Jeffrey Todd
5:54
Pretty impressive from what I've seen. But he has so much control - no real reason to deal him unless another team gets way overexcited with an offer.

Keep reading a lot of opinions
Jeffrey Todd
5:54
What exactly would you like for me to provide in this chat?
5:55
I'm giving opinion and argument, take it or leave it.
