Not for $13MM -- tough to pass up that kind of coin when he might've been looking at a non-roster deal in MLB

Has Rick Hahn overplayed his hand with Quintana and Robertson?
Steve Adams
3:54
Hahn still has 2-3 years to trade Quintana if he wants. I don't think Robertson's value has ever been all that high. His performance has been more good than great, and there isn't a ton of surplus value in his deal right now/

I heard the Reds could be a fit for me. This sounds unlikely because then who starts, me or Devin?
Steve Adams
3:55
If the price drops enough, sure.

I wouldn't pencil Mesoraco in for anywhere near a full season's worth of catching anyway after missing the past two seasons.

3:55
Why is there no interest in weiters, does Boras have some to do with that?
Steve Adams
3:56
His defense has declined substantially as has his overall offensive production. I'm sure there's interest in him on a reasonable one-year deal -- the asking price might just not be down to that point yet.

Dahl & Hoffman for Quintana makes Rocks contenders ?
Steve Adams
3:56
Dahl and Hoffman probably doesn't get the Rox Quintana by themselves.
Zach Cozart
3:57
Was a shortstop opening created in Tampa Bay? I really need a place to land!
Steve Adams
3:58
Not really. Matt Duffy's still their projected shortstop. Cozart probably opens the year in Cincinnati, barring a spring injury to a starting SS elsewhere.

Dahl and Hoffman for Gray?
Steve Adams
3:58
I don't do that if I'm Colorado.

Any moves left for Yankees?
Steve Adams

Minor League depth signings and whatnot. Maybe a cheap reliever on a one-year deal if someone they like is still sitting around in mid-Feb.

I don't fully buy that they're content with their rotation options, but if they do sign someone it's not going to be exciting and it'll probably cost $6MM or less.

Is Tampa Bay adding a 1B/DH right handed hitter?
Steve Adams
4:00
I think they'll add a 1B/DH bat yeah -- not necessarily right-handed. Brandon Moss would work.
Buck
4:01
Pirates could use another starter. Who makes sense as a reclamation project?
Steve Adams
4:03
If you want a really unexciting answer... Lucas Harrell has a nice ground-ball rate, which the Bucs always love. And he'd be a minor league deal, so no need to worry about 40-man roster considerations for now. Fister, too, I suppose, though he probably requires an MLB deal, a few million bucks... and he comes with some ugly velocity concerns

Am I starting for the Redsox this year?
Steve Adams
4:04
Early in the year at least, yeah. Doubt the leash will be all that long on him though.
Ryan
4:04
Why hasn't Peavy to the Padres happened yet?
Steve Adams
4:04
Pads seem to like other arms better, and this iteration of the front office/ownership doesn't have the emotional connection to him that previous versions would have.
Napoli
4:05
What team would love to have me?
Steve Adams
4:06
The Rangers. On a one-year deal. Lots of teams would like Napoli on a one-year deal probably. If he'd drop his asking price to that point I'd imagine he could have an agreement tomorrow with the Rangers, A's and Rays all showing varying degrees of interest.
Al Avila
4:06
Am I really going to Spring Training praying for bounce back years from multiple guys like Zimmerman, Sanchez, and even Pelfrey? Shouldn't I do more to shore up a rotation that did me in last season?
Steve Adams
4:07
I don't think they're keen on adding payroll. Could see him claim a fringe type off waivers this Spring and hope to catch lightning in a bottle (worked for Reds with Straily). Maybe he adds a swingman type on a cheap one-year deal since they still have at least a couple mill to kick around.
4:08
But if the Tigers contend in 2017, it's going to be due to a lot of rebounds. They're not going to spend significantly between now and Opening Day

Do you have faith in Randal Grichuk to be a productive player in '17 and beyond--I do not--so who should the Cards be looking at towards midseason?
Steve Adams
4:10
I have faith that he can hit for a low average with an OBP hovering around .300 and good enough defense/power to make that skill set work. He won't be a star, but he can be useful enough. It kind of worked for Adam Duvall last year (and Grichuk's probably a better defender).

The joys of multi-tasking and trying to read questions from 1200-1500 participants as I answer.
And I'll have you know that I was outstanding at Mario Teaches Typing back in the day!

Does Lind get a major league deal?
Steve Adams
4:12
Please be the real Scott Steiner.

At this point I think he could have to settle for a minor league deal
Ken Adams
4:12
Any chance you could see the Braves trading Markakis and a prospect or two for McCutchen? They would get another complimentary piece with Kemp and Freeman in the middle of the lineup, solid defensive right fielder and they wouldn't have to surrender their future.
Steve Adams
4:13
The Pirates were asking the Nats for two of the three best prospects in their system... each of whom rated among the top 30-40 prospects in all of baseball.

Markakis' crappy contract and a "prospect or two" doesn't move the needle.

Is there a better starting 5 going into spring training than NYM's Syndergaard, deGrom, Harvey, Matz, Wheeler/Gsellman?
