Bartolo Colon's Inner Thighs
4:21
O/U 1.5 White Sox trades before catchers/pitchers report?
Steve Adams
4:22
I'll take the under, and kudos for properly setting the O/U! I see O/U with even digits all the time.
Jason Hammel
4:22
Where do I end up signing and what for?
Steve Adams
4:23
My guess at this point is the Mariners, but I think most projections on Hammel's contract from a couple months ago are going to end up looking high. Maybe something along the lines of what Estrada got last year... 2/26ish. (I was a firm believer he'd get three the minute his option was declined)
Austin Jackson
4:23
Where do I end up signing and what for?
Steve Adams
4:24
Probably a minor league deal coming off season-ending surgery and several consecutive poor years. Tigers are looking for some cheap CF options.
John Mozeliak
4:24
Where did these rumors about me being interested in Dozier come from?
Steve Adams
4:26
Probably in part from reality and in part from the Twins trying to drum up the asking price. Dozier makes plenty of sense for them as a very legitimate upgrade over Wong, and I bet there was a call made to gauge the asking price. It probably didn't get that far, since I'm sure Alex Reyes and Luke Weaver's names were both mentioned (probably Weaver + several more pieces).

I don't think it was fabricated, but it's in the Twins' interest to release a bit of intel about other teams inquiring.
Brb -- going to get a note about Montero up on the site.

You said the market is flooded with lefty 1b/OF/DH types that might be better than Jaso.. i bet most want more than $4M and more than 1 Year.. so the real question.. who needs a short term first basemen who gets on base? would they give up a B prospect for him and would they take the entire salary rather than make a longer term commitment? I don't know if there's a match there, i don't follow other teams all that much.
Steve Adams
4:31
Most of them might *want* more than $4MM, but they're just not going to get it. Waiting it out, I bet many of them will sign for less than that. Mitch Moreland jumped the market and only got $5.25MM. The money just isn't going to be there for all of these guys. Lind, Logan Morrison, Justin Morneau, etc.
I think Brandon Moss is the best of the bunch but even he strikes me as someone that'll have a hard time getting two years now
Shane
4:33
Would the Padres take on Homer Bailey's salary to get a long-term legitimate starting option to tie them over?
Steve Adams
4:33
No one's taking on Bailey's salary.
Debbie Peavy
4:33
Should my boy Jake retire a Padre?
Steve Adams
4:33
Makes tons of sense for Peavy to go back to the Padres. But if he pitches well he probably won't finish out the year as a Padre
Tim
4:33
Haven't heard much as far as FA signings or trades lately, are teams trying to wait out the market to buy low right now?
Steve Adams
4:34
In some instances, yeah. Also just doesn't help that it's the holiday season and tons of execs, agents and media members have been taking some time off to spend with their families.
Josh
4:34
Edgar to the hall of fame next year?
Steve Adams
4:34
No doubt HOFer in my book
Adam Stevens
4:34
David Robertson & Brett Lawrie to Braves for Folty, Albies & Muller- who says no?
Steve Adams
4:35
Braves wouldn't give Albies or Folty straight up for that pair.
Let alone both (plus more)
Mike
4:35
Jeff bagwell HOF?
Steve Adams
4:35
Should be
Donald Trump
4:35
How can you have a DH in the Hall of Fame
Steve Adams
4:36
Well Don, he was a tremendous hitter. I mean, just tremendous. When I think of hitters, I think to myself, "That Edgar Martinez was tremendous." A tremendous hitter. Really, you wouldn't believe how tremendous.
Gogerty
4:36
Steve Adams for Jeff Todd, who says no?
Steve Adams
4:36
A lose-lose deal if there ever was one.
Brian
4:36
Does Lawrie make sense as a cheaper alternative to Dozier for the Dodgers?
Steve Adams
4:37
Lawrie is a considerably worse player than Dozier -- I don't think he makes the Dodgers all that much better.
Jim
4:38
Best guess at Pittsburgh's 2017 reclamation project?
Steve Adams
4:38
They already signed Hudson
4:39
Could add another SP, I suppose. Some type of ground-ball arm... Henderson Alvarez? They have a lot of options at 4/5 behind Cole, Nova, Taillon
DonnieB
4:39
Charlie Blackmon to the Phillies for Cameron Rupp, Hector Neris and Zach Eflin (or another pitcher like Asher or Morgan) Fair?
Steve Adams
4:39
Rox have been asking way, way more.
CMK
4:40
what are the odds that the Cubs don't extend Arrieta?
Steve Adams
4:40
I don't like to put percentages down, but I don't think they'll sign him long term, so I guess that means better than 50% that they don't
CO
4:40
Since he hasnt come up yet, who signs Witters?
Steve Adams
4:40
If/when his asking price comes down, Wieters to the Braves or Rockies makes a lot of sense
