Of Duffy, Hosmer, Moustakas, Cain & Dyson WHO is most likely to sign a long term extension with KC?
Steve Adams
4:21
Duffy I guess. Hosmer/Moose are Boras guys one year from free agency. Cain is older and turned down a longer deal last year. Dyson's a nice player but would be in his mid-30s for the life of an extension.

I don't think Duffy will sign, mind you, but he's a likelier candidate than the others.

Any chance Jays put Donaldson on the market this winter?
Steve Adams
4:21
Nope.

Steve Adams
4:22
White Sox. Quickly.

Trumbo to the A's? They've splurged on power bats before (Cepedes, Butler, EE-offered)
Steve Adams
4:23
Oakland's interest in EE struck me more as "There's no way this guy should be going so cheaply" than "We need to add a power bat at first base/DH." Trumbo isn't the same type of upgrade for them that Edwin would be, and while I'd be fine with some team paying him 3/30 or something and plugging him in at first base, that doesn't seem likely to happen with Oakland. (Plus he's asking for a lot more)

Whats the Jerry Blevins market look like?
Steve Adams
4:24
Better than a turd sandwich!
4:25
At this point, I don't see why he wouldn't get three years. If Mike Dunn somehow got three, Blevins should too.

Blue Jays, Mets, Yankees, Giants, Mariners... lots of teams could use some LH relief help still.
Marlins could use another one as well, but doesn't sound like they're planning on spending more.

Do i get a contract extention or a new address first?
Steve Adams
4:26
New address.
Drew
4:27
What kind of package will get Charlie Blackmon to the Rangers?
Steve Adams
4:28
A way larger one than the Rangers would like to or even could offer. Rangers are asking for potential front-line starters in return, and Yohander Mendez is the only upper-level guy they have that fits that bill. From there, add another few prospects -- Rockies don't seem to really want to move him, even though playing Ian Desmond at first base is weird.

4:28
Will the Giants ever move Posey out and to first base?
Steve Adams
4:29
I'm sure at some point he'll need to, but he's still an awesome defensive catcher. If they thought he needed to move anytime soon, they probably wouldn't have extended Belt.
Steve Adams
4:29
Why morse? Why?
Steve Adams
4:29
It's a minor league deal.
The better question is, "Why would someone be upset about a minor league deal?"

#rip Carrie Fisher
Steve Adams

Indeed :(

Better future-Tyler Glassnow or Jameson Tallion?
Steve Adams
4:31
Glasnow's been the healthier of the two. I love Taillon's arm, but he didn't even pitch competitively in 2014-15... it's hard to envision him suddenly turning a corner and being a 200-inning workhorse year in, year out (though Glasnow isn't exactly the epitome of durability himself)
Caleb
4:31
Any market for Kazmir? If so, why haven't the Dodgers traded him yet?
Steve Adams
4:32
He's owed $32MM over the next two seasons -- his age-33 and age-34 campaigns -- finished the year on the DL and didn't pitch well when healthy. Teams aren't exactly lining up to add him to the rotation.
Aaron
4:32
Brandon Kintzler a trade chip or no?
Steve Adams
4:32
A minor one, sure. I like him as a sweetener in a Dozier or Ervin trade. Doubt he fetches much on his own.
Angels fan
4:33
Any chance the Angels go after Tyson Ross? Also, are there any indications they've looked into trading Yunel Escobar to open up 3rd base for Marte?
Steve Adams
4:35
Ross is looking for $9-11MM on a one-year deal. Angels aren't going to pay him that.

There's no reason to trade Yunel just to clear room for Marte, in my mind. Marte had a nice 2016, but it's not like he's some can't-miss prospect. If a decent offer for Escobar presents itself this offseason or this summer, then go for it, but if not Marte will be fine in a reserve role for awhile. I don't think he's a long-term solution for them or anything.

4:36
Will Phillies move in for any more one year deals to help win now and keep younger players in minors
Steve Adams
4:37
They're still a candidate to add an outfield bat on a one-year deal or some type of reserve infielder/catcher in a similar capacity. Also like them as a landing spot for a late-inning relief arm that could eventually be flipped. So, yeah, I think they'll work out at least another one-year deal this offseason.

Travis Wood back to the Cubs?
Steve Adams
4:37
No real opportunity for him to start there. I think he'll go elsewhere.
Aaron
4:37
If he doesn't return to Texas, does Colby Lewis retire or look for a new team?
Steve Adams
4:38
Haven't heard anything like "Rangers or retirement" out of him yet, and there are a couple of rebuilding teams -- Twins and Padres -- that could use a veteran arm on a one-year deal which are currently being GMed by a former Rangers exec. (Although Levine obviously isn't the top shot-caller in MN)

Where is Napoli's best fit now?
Steve Adams
4:38
Rangers at this point make the most sense.
