Verdugo or Bellinger who do you think has the better shot at breaking through
Steve Adams
2:39
I'm not a prospect analyst, but every prospect analyst I follow gives Bellinger a big edge there, so him
Darth Vader
2:39
Jurickson Profar for Sonny Gray who says no?
Steve Adams
2:40
The A's aren't trading Gray for an asset that has the same amount of team control
Curious George
2:40
Is there an identity to the mysterious player that acts as the logo to MLBTR?
Steve Adams
2:40
I believe his name is Stock McPhoto
Ur horrible
2:40
Wish u was still on vacation.
Steve Adams
2:40
And yet you participate!

2:41
If Seth Maness can return to his previous form with the Royals, do we see a sea change in how teams/players treat elbow injuries?
Steve Adams
2:42
If he bounces back, then yeah, I'd imagine other players who qualify as options for the primary repair operation ("Seth Maness Surgery??") will be less hesitant about going that route. But, as Derrick Goold broke down a couple months ago, not all TJ patients are candidates for it. If you have a complete tear of the UCL (like Alex Reyes did, I believe) or a tear that's too great or in the wrong spot on the ligament, Tommy John will still be the only course of action

Do the Astros have a full time 1B in Gurriel or will he platoon with Reed? Does it even make sense for the 'Stros to have Reed on the roster out of ST? He's really a one dimentional player, defensively.
Steve Adams
2:44
I'd just let Yuli play there, use Marwin to spell him occasionally (maybe McCann, too) and let Reed get regular reps in AAA
Andy
2:44
I went to Winona State! Hooray!
Steve Adams
2:44
Just down the road! Hooray for WInona

Do you think the Nats are making a mistake by not starting the season with an established Closer?
Steve Adams
2:45
Well, we don't know that they won't open the season with an established closer, for starters.

And I don't really think a lack of a guy that has gotten the almighty save in the past is a big deal, but I do think a lack of established relievers is a general problem for them.
Cool Kid
2:45
Do you think that the pirates starting first baseman will be Bell or Jaso
Steve Adams
2:45
Maybe Jaso early while Bell gets back up to speed, but I'll be surprised if Bell doesn't play quite a bit more this season.
Cheslor Cuthbert
2:46
Do I have a shot at the second base job for the Royals?
Steve Adams
2:46
Absolutely.
Suntrust No-Park
2:47
# of pitchers that start for Braves this year? Last year was 16
Steve Adams
2:47
Considerably less -- let's go with..... 11? Let's go with 11.
Chance
2:48
What is a reasonable contract for Hosmer? 10-years for a player that regressed in the last half of 2016?
Steve Adams
2:49
It'd be nice if he were remotely consistent at the plate, but he's yet to be that in his career. If he were a regular three to four win 1B, Brandon Belt's deal would make sense to me, but I wouldn't even want to do that right now, given his roller coaster tendencies
opening day
2:49
Do you think that the Pirates have a shot of making playoffs
Steve Adams
2:49
As a Wild Card team, sure. As the division winner? No
Paulie
2:49
Do you see the White Sox actually relying on G. Soto and Narvaez at C this year?
Steve Adams
2:50
I really hope not, especially since they have little depth behind that already thin duo. They really make sense to get one of the Nationals' catchers
Zac
2:50
In regards to your comments about the PA not liking the Strop extention, while I get why they would frown on it, it's really hard to fault a guy, especially a RP who isn't a closer, to take that much in guarantees. Nothing wrong with security and comfort for a player like that.
Steve Adams
2:51
Sure, but the MLBPA always wants guys to push for the most money possible to further set the bar higher for future waves of players. Strop didn't do that, but it's ultimately his call. If his agents and the Union do everything they can to explain his earning power in free agency and he still says "Don't care, I want this," that's his right. But the MLBPA doesn't have to be thrilled about it
Travis D'Arnaud
2:51
Is this the year I finally stay healthy and put up a BA .250+ 20 HR and 65 RBI?
Steve Adams
2:52
I don't feel comfortable projecting anything close to a full season of at-bats for him. Sure it's possible, but history says it's just not going to happen
Me
2:52
Mets got a no hitter going agains red sox. Does that mean anything coz its only ST
Steve Adams
2:52
It means you should expect the Mets to not give up a hit all season in 2017.
Jacob
2:52
Do you see the Reds surprising and claiming a wild card spot?
Steve Adams
2:52
Nope
Jake
2:52
Derek Norris and Victor Robles for Robertson.
Steve Adams
2:53
Victor Robles is so far off the table in Robertson talks that I can't even come up with a half-assed analogy to explain his lack of proximity to said theoretical table
Jharel Cotton
2:53
I've seen many listing me as a ROTY candidate. No way I could beat Benintendi right?
Steve Adams
2:54
Sure you could. Doesn't make it likely, but it's possible. Beni's the No. 1 prospect in the league on most lists, but it's not like that makes him a sure thing to dominate in 2017. Plus he could get injured.
