What are your thoughts of the Braves signing Sanders Commings? Between him and Teabow who do you think will make it?
Steve Adams
2:54
Neither?
Jacob
2:54
How about we bet on that?
Steve Adams
2:55
On the Reds winning a Wild Card spot? I'll add "JAKE WAS RIGHT AND I WAS WRONG" to the end of the first 15 chat answers I give following the end of the season if they do, ha. Deal?
And if I win... I dunno. Just keep coming to our chats and reading us or something :)

Is Allen Craig's Major League career over?
Steve Adams
2:56
Think it has been for awhile now. He's not even hitting in AAA

Given the fact that the back of the Tigers' rotation is an unknown quantity at best, wouldn't a one-year flyer on Doug Fister kind of make sense for them. By now, his price has to have gone way down, and he had his best years with them and could recapture some of that old magic.
Steve Adams
2:57
Sure, it'd be fine, but they have plenty of options at that No. 5 slot -- Anibal, Pelfrey, Boyd, etc. Plus signing in Detroit isn't going to magically give Fister the 3-4 mph he's lost on his fastball over the past 2-3 yers
years, even

Do Hunter, Cuddyer, and Hawkins really make a difference for this team? Seems like a move to generate buzz about the team instead actually helping it improve.
Steve Adams
2:59
I damn sure wouldn't mind having that group of guys in camp teaching teenage kids and young 20-somethings about the importance of work ethic, how to handle the media, etc. etc. etc.

Leadership and the lessons that can be taught by guys like that are real things. Quantifying their benefit, of course, ranges from difficult to impossible, but there's definite some positive effects

How many mutual options have ever been picked up?
Steve Adams
3:00
Not many, but it happens occasionally. Matt Belisle and the Rockies both exercised one like 4 years ago. Aramis and the Brewers did the same for his final year of his career, I believe

Chances the Braves make a deal for Norris or are they happy with the catchers they got?
Steve Adams
3:00
Nah they've got Flowers and Zook with Recker as a depth option.

Mark buehrle HOF chances? Resume lacks Cy young, but has no hitter, perfect game, 4 gold gloves, WS ring, 214 wins, played in steriod era, had record for consecutive quality starts and consecutive batters retired, longevity, 14 years of 200 innings... i might even be missing some..
Steve Adams
3:01
Also finished near 60 WAR. He'll be a fringe case. I don't think I'd vote for him, simply because he was never really one of the game's best pitchers -- just insanely durable in an era where no others were. But he'll get some consideration, and he was a damn good pitcher for a long time.

Darkwing Duck or Tailspin?

Adrian Beltre is a lot of fun to watch.
Steve Adams
3:02
Adrian Beltre is a monster. Speaking of shoo-in HOFers...

Will Pedro Alvarez play ball this year?
Steve Adams
3:03
I'm sure someone will give him a couple million bucks as a part-time DH/1B -- especially if an injury arises in Spring Training on a club with limited options
Tim
3:04
Can you see the Nationals and Angels matching up a trade for Norris? They already made a trade once this offseason with Espinosa.
Steve Adams
3:04
Definitely. I ran down some potential fits for Norris last night, and the Halos topped the list. (Granted, that's because I listed the teams in alphabetical order.... but they were on there!!)

Any thought of Pagan to the Pirates? Do you see any other veterans who saw their market fall apart head there after the success of guys like S-Rod, Freese and Joyce last year?
Steve Adams
3:05
Yeah -- I haven't thought much about Pagan to Pittsburgh, but I do think it's a plausible on-paper fit. He's probably still hoping for more of a regular role, though.

This seems hard to fathom, but seems legitimately possible no other person reaches 300 wins. Agree?
Steve Adams
3:06
I don't think it's hard to fathom -- I think it's all but certain.

Michael Shur - EP of Parks and Rec - was a writer for Fire Joe Morgan
Steve Adams
3:06
Yes! Michael Schur/Ken Tremendous is amazing. He also created The Good Place, which rocks. And he played Dwight's cousin on The Office (and also wrote for The Office). Schur is indeed Tremendous. Though I don't think he's Ken.

Your best guess......what team is J Quintana pitching for on Aug 1st?
Steve Adams
3:08
Astros?
Dan Duqie
3:08
If the O's are contending at the All-Star Break do I go all in and get a stud or make marginal moves again. Thanks!
Steve Adams
3:09
The pickings in the Baltimore farm are pretty slim to be "getting a stud," (assuming you mean front-line starter). I guess he could cash in Chance Sisco, and maybe some other prospects break through in Baltimore this year
Andres Verde
3:09
Thoughts on Padres potentially piggybacking starters this season and other weird moves being brought up by Andy Green like having two outfielders (Jankowski and Margot) and an extra infielder in certain situations?
