Yes and why are those stats still used for fantasy? This is why I can’t get into fantasy baseball!

Yeah, but I think it works for fantasy because it's drastically different categories

76 pitches from Ryu thru 4

I don't think a game necessarily needs to reflect what is ideal in real life
8:03
Like GTA V, it's way more acceptable to carjack people and runover people on sidewalks.

weird use of a GTA analogy

I like the simplicity of using the old school stats for fantasy. Its escapism like a video game. I deal with enough numbers at my day job.

HRs is fine, but why pitched wins in fantasy? That’s lame. I get it won’t be exactly like real life value, but there clearly needs to be an overhaul to reflect more closely with real life at least.

Yeah I honestly don't mind old-school stats for fantasy. For the most part, the best wRC+ players are still who you want. And it matters some how exactly they get to that wRC+, which is actually kind of interesting!

I love when Bichette misses he always seems to break the air

mmmm, I could go for fried chicken

And then you're pushing up terrible players whose only skill is stealing bases, or decent players like Trea Turner into the top five despite being nowhere near there IRL

morton velo down today, lots of 90-92
AvatarDan Szymborski
8:07
Yeah, but it's not identical to real life. If you wanted identical, you'd just doa  bunch of wrc+

I LOVED Cito not playing Mussina in '93.  After years of Blue Jays getting hosed without even being chosen for the All Star game, it was nice to see the AL team be basically the Jays and some guys.  Also, totally classless move on Mussina's part to start warming up in the bullpen after he'd been told he wasn't getting into the game.  You scratched a wound, Zim.  Scratched. A. Wound.

yup, Morton averaging 92 today, 94.4 last year

Akiyama getting his first at-bat right now, pinch hitting for Phil Ervin. Platoon-heavy approach from CIN early on. Kind of exciting.

His movement's been nasty, but his location has been off
I think that's been a problem more than velocity

Akiyama rbi single back up the middle, 5-1 Reds

The biggio homer was on an awful pitch
I think Craig would have hit that out. Now, in 2020

Tommy Milone may not be on the top of many lists, but he's gotta be pretty high up there on the list of baseball player names that are fun to say in a Baltimore accent. That counts for something right Dan? Right?
AvatarDan Szymborski

I don't do a baltimore accent very well
8:10
I only really ever spoke it with a handful of words

Debut alert! Ryan Thompson. Not the Mets outfielder.

One of those 'look' relievers with a unique slot, frisbee slider in the mid-70s.
He's one of those fringe roster guys for me but here he is
