Because he calls the defense. The defense has given up 171 points in four playoff games.we would be talking about firing the defensive coordinator but the defensive coordinator is the head coach. A lot of head coaches call plays that doesn’t mean they are all good at it

I think Rudolph gets a lot of undeserved hate. I think the Steelers could win 10 games with him as the QB next year if they are able to run the ball, and he doesn’t make a ton of mistakes.  Do you agree or is he really that awful?
Zeise
1:17
His greatest sin is he is not Ben
Bernard

Do you think Edmunds will be back next season?  I thought he played pretty well in 2021.
Zeise
1:17
I do, actually and I agree he played well this year
Jake

I think it's time to just back and enjoy the fruits of Labor over the last few years and be patient few the next year's it takes time to build a  Dynasty . By why would they want to spend the farm on QB that's doesn't know if he wants to retire this year or next should they take there time and do it right?
Zeise
1:18
You wouldn’t

Paul, Can you rank the Steelers O-Lineman based on a combo of 2021 performance and future upside? 1 being best 5 being worst. Do they all need to be upgraded?
Zeise

Wow unreal. OK I will take a shot - Trai Turner

If you had to rank, Ben, Rodgers, Brees, Manning (both), Rivers?  I left Brady off b/c he's clearly 1 sadly.
Zeise
1:21
P Manning, Rodgers, Ben, Brees and then Eli
Oh wait Rivers between Brees and Eli

Paul, how concerned am I on a scale of 1 to 12.3 (1 being a smoldering dumpster fire, 12 being "I'm still loaded and life is still generally good") about the drop in attendance and ratings?  Judging by the traffic on this silly little chat you run, yinzer nation is strong, if a bit uneasy. Your thoughts, por favor.
Zeise
1:22
It is not significant yet in that it is sort of what happens when you go from a team at the top to a team in the middle
Alex
1:22
Why not trade Claypool, re-sign JuJu to pair with Diontae and draft a speed WR to stretch the field? Would you do this or just re-sign JuJu?
Zeise
1:23
I don’t see any value in resigning JuJu unless it is for pennies on the dollar
Comeback
1:23
So what's a good comeback to all those out of town (and others) who bring up seemingly ancient history about things Ben may or may not have done in the past ?
Zeise
1:23
Ignore it. Nobody knows the truth but Ben and the women involved. Anyone who claims they do is lying to themselves

Paul, I'e asked you several times now to fully endorse my eventual HOF candidacy.  Why you playing hard to get? I know that you are one of those crazy and truly clueless anti-Geno types, but please tell me that you appreciate my greatness?
Zeise
1:24
Kris Letang and Geno and Sid and Fleury are all Hall of Famers. No question

Do we know the name that will end up being the next franchise quarterback. Is he even in college yet?

What’s the kid at Ohio State? I love that dude’s game

If Ryan Shazier doesn't suffer a career ending injury, how much more playoff success would they have had the last 5 years ?
Zeise
1:26
That’s hard to say. I mean he was good but he has gone from a pretty good player in reality to the next Ray Lewis according to some people around here. Would he have helped? Yes. How much? That is arguable

Pirates won't come close to 100 losses - only because the season isn't likely to start until June!
Zeise
1:28
That could be true but I believe there will be at least 150 games played and that’s more than enough!!

Paul, Do the Bengals have a chance?  They beat KC in the regular season and it is the year of the Tiger
Zeise
1:29
They do but they can’t let Joe Burrow get knocked around like a pinball again

The top five picks this year go to the Jags, Lions, Texans, Jets and Giants.  Some folks have pushed the idea of tanking to get a high pick.  Except for the Giants, and a few playoff appearances by the Jags and Texans, these teams are terrible, and I can't imagine being a fan and having to root for any of them over the past 10 years.  I would much rather have the excitement we witnessed as Steeler fans, with a slim shot of making the playoffs, and then waiting for OT in the last game of the season to see if we are in or not.  Do you think tanking is viable, or would you rather see a competitive team over a season and possible playoff birth come from the Steelers each year?
Zeise
1:31
It is hard to tank in football. You have to have everything go right in order for it to work

What's the mix of blame between coaching and drafting for the poor Oline play?  Seems like it's been downhill since Munchak left.
Zeise
1:31
All of the above. And Mike Tomlin has a hand in all of it
Lou

Isn't the whole analysis of the Steelers playoff failure this year a bit exaggerated? They were the #7 seed (i.e. would not have been a playoff team in prior years) and got ridiculously lucky to even make it in. Says more about the NFL's decision to allow mediorcity into the tournament than the Steelers failure.
Zeise

I think what people are pointing to is that it showed just how truly far from contention that they really a lot

Does Tom in Dallas realize that the Texans have had more post season success than the Steelers over the past decade or so? Just sayin!!

Is the love for Juju an indication of how bad the Steeler situation is at WR (at best he is #2 possession guy)?   Like many, I was bullish on the WR situation prior to the season, expecting growth/improvements largely across the board... never really materialized.
