In what order would you rank Lloyd, Porter and Harrison in their prime?
Zeise
12:17
Harrison had the highest of highs but the shortest time at his prime. So I would say Lloyd, Porter, Harrison

Hey, PZ.  I'm assuming Watt can't do much, if any, upper-body weight training with a pec tear.  And you have muscle atrophy after a few weeks.  How do you return to the lineup in 6 weeks and still have effective upper strength?  Or is Watt just too good and a few pounds of temporary muscle loss is insignificant?
Zeise
12:19
I am going to go out on a limb and say the Steelers have access to the best doctors/physical therapists/orthopedists/athletic trainers/surgeons/witch doctors/religious healers etc. and therefore will have a very good plan for TJ to come back and be as strong as ever.

Good afternoon Paul what do you think about the play of Highsmith and Fitzpatrick i think both have a another good game on Sunday
Zeise
12:20
I think both are really good football players and would expect more often than not they play really well
Wild Idea

Paul, do you remember back in '96 when Lloyd got hurt and the Steelers were looking for outside linebacker help? They ended up moving Chad Brown from ILB to OLB. Do you think Devin Bush would be a candidate to do something like that? It isn't a HUGE need right now because of Reed's acquisition, but could Bush do something that, do you think? He seems like more of a body type for OLB than ILB anyway.
Zeise
12:21
I would say that given he has struggled to get it done at inside linebacker I am not sure adding another position for him to learn would be wise at this point

I was not pleased with the play calling and the explanations after the game.  Like poker, if you took the entire game and plugged it into a computer up to the point that Cinny tied the game, and run simulations on the outcome starting with the extra point try, 9 of 10 times, Fitz never blocks the PAT.  And in OT, you figure Cinny hits the winning FG 50% of the time.  My point being, if that game were replayed, we lose over 90% of the time.  So, the play calling may have been 'adequate' for a win last Sunday, but we can't sit on leads, go into the four corners and hope to win every week.  What are your thoughts on being more aggressive with the play calling in future weeks?
Zeise
12:22
They made it very clear they will open it up and want to open it up next week and beyond

It appears that it does not matter which running back is in Harris or Warren because the o line cannot open a hole to save their lives. I say rest Harris to recover in the next few weeks and maybe the line will improve by the time he gets back. Do you agree?
Zeise
12:23
I don't know Harris needs to rest. He says he is fine and he says he can run. The offensive line is a work in progress and will be for a long time. I wouldn't rest Harris if he is healthy

Huge fan of your work. Who is Pitt’s starting QB this week. Thanks!
Zeise
12:24
Great question. I will guess Nick Patti even though he is hobbled.

12:24
Is there a market out there for me? Dallas needs a QB and I would be better than Rush, right? What can I bring in return?
Zeise
12:24
There is. The Steelers need to set you free so you can go find a team that needs a backup quarterback
12:25
Keep firing questions, we are just getting started!!

It appears in most NFL games, the TE is open in the middle a lot! Don't see why the Steelers don't take advantage of the mismatch that Freiermuth presents. Will we see more targets for he and Gentry this Sunday?
Zeise
12:26
I would be willing to bet the game plan will be more aggressive and different this week.

Paul, I can't see the Pirates being a contender for another (*blank*) years,,..??
Zeise
12:26
I would say they are at least two years away

12:32
Paul, given the OL troubles, why not rescheme some plays using a fullback to assist with running plays?
Zeise
12:33
They have had a fullback on their roster for as long as I can remember. And they have been very reluctant to use them in the run game as much as they should. I don't understand it.

Do you think NCAA will do anything to speed up football games.  Past two Pitt games 4hours plus and that seems to be case all around college football.
NFL has made rules to try to keep their games to 3 hours. Baseball trying to speed up their games.
Zeise
12:33
They better. These games are really hard to watch, very, very hard to watch. They take too long, the pace is too slow

12:34
Any news on who will start for Pitt at Qb this week?
Zeise
12:34
You have a better chance of getting honest and accurate news out of the Kremlin then you do news on injuries and depth chart items from Pitt football

I understand winning against bad teams (even though the Reds had a better record) is meaningless, but I take exception to the idea that they are intentionally tanking. Do you think they are?
Zeise
12:35
Define tanking. They aren't actively trying to win. They may not actively trying to lose but they certainly aren't trying to win

Paul, lots of advertisements for gambling, fan duel, etc on football commercials.  There is a team in Las Vegas.  What are the "odds" of a gambling scandal involving players and or  coaches ?
Zeise
12:36
These days you don't have to be in Vegas to gamble on sports. In fact there are fewer and fewer places you CAN'T gamble on sports so this kind of potential scandal is not limited to Vegas. I would say the fact every college kid has access to gambling websites and many have friends who play football or basketball, the potential is there for this kind of thing all over the country

Year 4 of the Pirates rebuild next season. Shouldn't Bob Nutting this offseason be opening the wallet to bring in a few free agents? I mean a couple legit ones like pitchers and maybe a first baseman. It's time.
Zeise
12:38
One would think that it is time to go out and add a few pieces but I will be shocked if it isn't the same - "let's add a few cheap veterans, hope they hit lightning in a bottle and then we can trade them at the deadline"

12:39
What are your views on the changes in MLB: pitch clock, larger bases, and restricting the infield shift?
Zeise
12:40
I don't like the restriction of the shift but love the idea of a pitch clock. Speed the game up - we don't need all the monkey business pitchers and hitters do between every pitch, just get the process more streamlined and quicker. As for the shift, how about stop trying to get every guy to hit with a launch angle that guarantees swings and misses and teach them how to hit the damn ball where the shift isnt

It appears that Narduzzi should be eating some humble pie after Tennessee came back and whipped the Panthers on Saturday. He was playing the disrespect card after the WVU game and acted like an ass on the SVP show. I like him as a coach and a recruiter but he has not endeared himself to too many in the national media. Does he need to tone it down a bit and know his program is not a top ten program yet until they stop losing games like on Saturday and like the Western Michigan game last year? I know Slovis would have made a difference but Tennessee's depth hurt the Panthers late.
Zeise
12:41
One of the reasons he is great at recruiting and why his players love him is that he is bold, he has their back and he acts like the baddest ass on the block. That isn't a bad thing at all.
12:42
Also, he called and had a conversation with Scott Van Pelt a few days after the game just to smooth it over and make it clear he wasn't attacking Van Pelt. They had a good conversation, it is fine
