The lack of creativity in the run game is really disappointing because that is supposed to be the strong suit of Canada

On the premium board of Panther-lair one of the staff posted that he could see Will Jeffress leave the team soon. Why is Pitt such a dumpster fire and would you be on board with Brandin Knight as the next head coach?
Zeise
1:28
If guys start leaving this team again then I don’t know how Capel survives. The first name they should have on their minds and the first call they should make and really go after is Sean Miller. He is the only one who can get this thing on track and back competing. It is too big of a rebuild and too big of a job for a first time guy. People point to Dixon but Dixon took over a program that had just won the Big East and was in the Sweet 16. That is a different situation fir a first time coach to step into

I still can't stand you. The way you laughed about drinking when kids watch was so terrible I cried after the call ended. You should be ashamed you and Walls. Shame! Shame!

99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer, take one down, drink it down, 98 bottles of beer on the wall….

For every good draft pick (e.g., Frieremuth) by Colbert and Tomlin, there have been 2 or 3 horrible choices (Bush, Edmonds, Washington). Isn't it time for a change at the gm level?
Zeise
1:33
If we are being honest the Steelers have not drafted well in the last six years or so

The DL isn't where it is by accident. Years ago MT gave up on the NT position and because he only uses two "bigs" at a time he is perfectly content with having no more than 2 decent DLs. "All of a sudden" he has no NT and 1 decent DL and words like Steel Curtain and Blitzburgh are nothing but memories. Mr Rooney needs a head coach that understands football begins with the lines not the backfield.
Zeise

Again, I think injuries have ruined the defensive line

I've had it with the pathetic Pirates!! They are an embarrassment! They keep trading players and imo don't even get that good of a return for them. They are kicking the can down the road even further obv because at the rate they are going now, they won't even sniff competing until 2028. We as fans didn't sign up for this Paul!!
Zeise
1:36
I agree they need to start putting money and effort into making the Major League club competitive. But they have their plan and will stick to it come hell or high water

Why all the love with Highsmith? Guy can't get near the quarterback at all. I've not been impressed at all with him.
Zeise
1:37
I’ve at least seen some semblance of a good football player with him unlike many others on that defense

What is your number 1 way to lift up the offense and defense for the quickest turnaround?
Zeise
1:38
People on this chat have hit the nail on the head - rebuild the lines

Whats your take on the NCAA allowing for 7 extra counters for football this year?  Does it actually hurt the WVU's/Pitts of the world who take 3 star type kids who the powerhouses dont traditionally have room for but do now?
Zeise
1:39
Like everything else there is unintended consequences and so we will probably see some of that but the mid programs like Pitt can still offer a better and quicker path to actually getting on the field

What is your read on the Pens at this point?  Trending up, flat, or down?
Zeise
1:40
An average hockey team. Not much more not much less than that. Probably make the playoffs and not much more

Would any Steeler offensive linemen start on any other team in our division?  Poor Najee.
Zeise
1:42
Kevin Dotson and Trai Turner I think have played well at times this year.
Pitt Juggernaut
1:42
Does Pitt score 50 points + this Sat & Kenny throw 7 TD passes ?
Zeise
1:43
Everyone is expecting a shootout but I’m not sure what to expect. Both offenses will score but I could see it being more like 38-34 than the 56-52 game everyone is predicting

Hi Paul.  My Steeler Mind is already on 2022.  How can the Steelers shore up the DL?  Tuitt re-sign?  Tyson is kinda old isn't he?  34?  If they draft high here, then what about OL?
Zeise
1:44
They have to move on from Tuitt. You get Alualu back, you draft another defensive lineman and go sign one and you are back

1:44
what do you think happens with Pitts Wr coach BM
Zeise
1:45
I think Mark Whipple will either retire or move on to something else and Marion gets promoted

Good Day Mr. Zeiss.  How did the Steelers over estimate the quality of play they would get out of their backups?  I get it if one or two guys are not able to step up... but it seem like there is a precipitous drop in talent level across the board on both sides of the ball.  Is this salary cap related, talent evaluation related or coaching? (Probably all of the above!)
Zeise
1:46
They haven’t been very good at player evaluation lately that’s for sure
Bernard
1:47
Should players that test +++ but are vaxxed and asymptomatic be forced to sit out games in order to protect players that otherwise might not have gotten vaccinated (as is their right generally and under the labor agreement)?  Seems wrong.
Zeise
1:47
The whole damn thing and the way we have gone about our business in this pandemic is silly, unhinged and ridiculously dumb. So I’ll abstain from giving my opinion

I've always thought that the biggest problem with Tomlin is his unmitigated stubbornness - and I think all of the Steelers problems over his tenure - from they type of players they draft to the schemes they run to the coordinators he hires and keeps to the current refusal to bench Bush stem from that.. Your thoughts?
Zeise
1:50
I think that he has a staff that is stale and not good enough. He is stubborn but I think he knows some big changes are needed
GlennC

Paul, the Pirates are paying Perez twice as much as Stallings, but he he isn't half as good!
Zeise
1:51
He was before he got hurt.
Destiny

The Steelers management made a choice not to sign Nelson, Hilton and OL free agents in oder to use that money to bring back Ben. The die was cast. Tomlin has been a  miracle worker getting this team in contention for a wildcard.
Zeise
1:51
But they have a lot of cap space and could have signed those guys

1:51
Is Kahn the guy if Colbert retires?
Zeise
1:52
It seems like they are going to go with Brandon Hint
