No, not at all. They all like to hear themselves talk and then when they are wrong we never hear from them again

Will any Pirates player reach double-digit home runs?
Zeise
3:30
Yes I predict they will have at least three with 10 or more - Hayes, Reynolds and Yoshi
Chief Powhatan
3:31
Not really Pirates question but more MLB... will Albert Pujols reach 700 home runs even with the NL adding the DH.
Zeise
3:31
I think he can hit 21 this year so yes
Dan
3:31
Why should we care?
Zeise
3:32
About what?
ev

Paul, I am an admitted NutCracker (one who abhors Nutting's penurious ways) so I am clearly stunned at word of the Hayes signing for $8.75M/year (mean or average).  The terms make it the richest in club history.  I like Hayes.  He is a good 3B, but he lacks power at the plate.  Atlanta signed their 1B at $21M/year before arbitration; is that difference between offensive capabilities and why we will soon see Reynolds traded?
Zeise
3:34
I have no idea what Hayes was thinking but more power to the Pirates for getting a deal done. And I’m assuming offensive numbers are what drives these deals

Congratulations to Ke'Bryan Hayes on his new deal.  Though it's not a Dodger or Yankee-like contract, it's a big deal for the Bucs.  Now that Hayes is locked up, who is next on the radar to get a hefty extension?  Reynolds?  Cruz?
Zeise
3:35
I don’t think Reynolds is gonna get a big bag from the Pirates
John
3:35
So Zucker & McGinn are still out I just read. They brought up that Hallander kid from WBS. Heinen's minutes have dropped. At least E Rod scored, hopefully that's a start. Other than Carter & Bleuger playing on wrong lines, the boys need to step it up tonight.
Zeise
3:36
Honestly if they lose tonight they almost assuredly will be finish in third place. They will fall too fat behind with only about ten games left to recover
Jason
3:36
That $650k arbitration makes even less sense now! How do you think he will react to this contract that was given to his teammate?
Zeise
3:37
It is likely not go very well for Reynolds if he wants to be a part of this organization and he knows it

Mr Paul Zeise, I hearby proclaim this day :     "Bucs & Pucks Day!" The first official one of 2022.
Zeise
3:37
Sounds good to me
Ryan
3:38
Good afternoon Paul who leads the pirates in home runs strikeouts and wins this season I’m going with Reynolds Brubaker and Keller
Zeise
3:38
Reynolds, Keller and Keller
Chief Powhatan
3:38
Welcome Paul, nice shirt
Zeise
3:38
Which shirt
Bernard

How will NFL schedule makers deal with AFC North divisional games and Deshaun Watson's possible suspension? Seems like they'd have to push at least one match up with every division foe to back end of season, right?
Zeise
3:39
I don’t think one has anything to do with the other

The Hayes' deal is to get people into the ballpark until August, then good bye and how many how many prospects can you get.
Zeise
3:40
There is zero chance they trade him in August
Bernard
3:40
Adidas sure seems to care about women and trans athletes based upon their commercials and title 9 t shirts during NCAA men's tourney.  My question would be, if they are so concerned about equality, why didn't any of their Kansas bag men who are now in prison given cash to women's players?
Zeise
3:41
I’m not touching this one lol
Bernard
3:41
Will any of the top QB prospects be above average NFL starters 5 years from now?
Zeise
3:43
I predict three of the five will be at least competent starters. You can figure out which three ha ha

3:44
I basketball the Head Coach is always the problem until he becomes the solution or is gone.
Zeise
3:45
You mean the assistant coach snd I think pitt needs more talent
Joe Palooka
3:45
Paul, I'm not sure The Pens game is on local tv. ESPN+ maybe? Can you or anyone confirm this? Thanks.
Zeise
3:45
It is only on ESPN+
Bernard
3:46
Given the going rate for top WRs based upon recent trades, wouldn't an NFL GM such as Colbert lean WR over DL in draft if equal need and players of equal talent are there when choosing?
Zeise
3:47
Yes that’s what I meant the receiver market is way out of whack. They need to go cheap on receiver and the way to do that is in the draft

3:49
paul, why would Pirates pick a guy off the scrap heap to play outfield and not bring up someone from minors? It’s only short term while Sllen
Zeise
3:51
Because a scrap heap guy has at least some demonstrated level of competence at the Major League level and random minor leaguers would likely be overwhelmed
Bernard
3:52
So we love Tiger but hate Phil?  Should Phil cheat on his wife, abuse drugs and maybe get on the greens with one of his kids to improve the old image?
Zeise
3:52
Who hates Phil? The only people who hate Phil are self righteous woke national media types and the PGA officials
Matt from LA

Although I see this signing primarily as a PR move by the normally inept Pirate organization, it is a positive step in the right direction and a positive message to the fan base. That said, can we assume that it is now unlikely that Reynolds signs or is offered a similar, although costlier, extension?
