He's an unbelievable player, but so much more goes into succeeding into your late 20s and early 30s than just skill, there is no guarantee that he'll have the health or drive to get there.

It stinks, as a hockey fan plain and simple.

The Olympics never did turn into the no-effort skills competition that people assumed it would, in fact some would argue that players try even harder in the short tournament.
But, at the same time I can understand it from a negotiating point of view.

Montreal fans should be scared every year will be the year Shea Weber becomes a pylon, and the folks in Minnesota will be happy to get another excellent season out of Koivu/Staal etc.
