That's simple, I know and not really an answer on how to beat them. With that top four, they don't give you the blueline easily.

Is Datsuk doing anything on the Coyotes? And for that matter Pronger?
Gavin Lee
6:32
Nope. They're both dead contracts. Pronger works for the Department of Player Safety, and Datsyuk just won a Gagarin Cup in the KHL.
Prospect
6:34
CHL or NCAA
Gavin Lee
6:34
I'm not sure what you mean.
Prospect
6:35
What's the best route to the NHL?
Gavin Lee
6:36
The CHL is still king, for now. The NCAA is getting better and better every year, and the tournament this year was exquisite hockey.
But they aren't really fighting each other anyway.
Prospect
6:37
I hear the competition is better in the o, dub, and q.
Gavin Lee
6:37
It is, but again they're not really equivalent. You start playing in the CHL at 16, before getting drafted.
6:38
The US College ranks are mostly for 19-23, with exceptional players going in younger.
Prospect
6:39
Why would one go to college?
Gavin Lee
6:39
For one thing, you get a college degree if you stay the whole term.
6:40
Otherwise, you can get a better opportunity to play big minutes on a team against almost-grown men.
Take Tyson Jost for instance.
6:41
He was drafted into the WHL, but decided to play in the BCHL instead, retaining his college eligibility.
It's still high level hockey, but not nearly as high as the WHL (with substantially less travel as well).
He destroyed it, went to college for a year and played huge minutes on a top team in North Dakota.
6:42
Immediately signed with the Avs and has already played in the NHL.
Prospect
6:42
How does the skill compare?
Gavin Lee
6:42
Between the BCHL and WHL? It's just a much wider gap.
There are top talents like Jost, and then also kids who will never sniff professional hockey.
6:43
If I remember correctly, Brett Hull took almost the same path.
Lightning
6:43
Do you see the bolts getting back to 2015 form?
Gavin Lee
6:43
They have all the pieces to be a cup contender again as soon as next year.
6:44
Putting Stamkos back with Kucherov would instantly create perhaps the most lethal combination in the entire NHL.
Nordiques Fan
6:45
Which city is most likely to win the next expansion/relocation team?
Gavin Lee
6:45
I'll still say Seattle, though there doesn't seem to be the appetite for it as there once was.
I'm sorry Nordiques fan..it won't be Quebec.
Sweater Geek
6:45
Do you see the NHL implementing jersey ads with the jersey manufacturers as adidas?
Gavin Lee
6:46
I don't, actually. I think the sweaters are fairly safe in that regard.
Nordiques Fan
6:46
Are we sure there will be a 32nd team?
Gavin Lee
6:46
Eventually there will be.
6:47
I'd like to see one in Milwaukee.
Hawks Fan
6:49
What was going on with Toews for most of the year?
Gavin Lee
6:49
He needs a power winger who can skate to back off defenders.
Nordiques Fan
6:50
If it's not in Quebec, I would love to see it in the north.
Gavin Lee
6:50
I agree, but saying that we'll probably see the next team in Houston.
Hawks Fan
6:51
Expecting major line shake-ups from Q?
Gavin Lee
6:51
It'll be brand new wingers for Toews, but that Panarin-Anisimov-Kane line will probably be put back together.
