If nothing else like that presents itself, sure, wait.

What percent chance would you hang on Hayes not signing with Philly?
Gavin Lee
6:45
I wouldn't know what % to put, but if it were a done deal they would have had to send more than a 5th.
It gives them a head start for sure.

How true are the Zucker-VAN rumors?
Gavin Lee
6:46
So this one I even had trouble deciding whether we would run it, because Halford isn't that kind of reporter. But, on the other hand he doesn't usually throw stuff like that out.
You can usually tell my level of comfort with a rumor by how we package it here at PHR. If it gets a whole piece to itself, there is some meat to it.

I have heard there are two deals on the table for Zucker to Van?
Gavin Lee
6:47
This is what Halford said, yeah.
When you hear that though, it doesn't mean they're sitting on the NHL's table waiting to be processed.
It means that they've talked out two potential deals.
Not necessarily agreed to them.

Would you trade Marner for kaako
Gavin Lee
6:48
No.
Steve
6:48
Hey Gavin, any chance duchene goes back to Colorado? They love spend and he has that in spades or did he burn that bridge?
Gavin Lee
6:48
I think that ship has sailed.

Expansion teams are supposed to be terrible ... After the success Vegas had will the NHL change the way the Seattle franchise gets to draft so they're not nearly as good in year one as Vegas was?  What changes can they make?
Gavin Lee
6:49
Exact same draft
All the rules are the same, except for Vegas being exempt
Teams will be better prepared/won't make deals.
Steve
6:50
Hey Gavin, what is the story on Vasili Podkolzin? Seen mock drafts with him going as high as 3 and as low as 12, how good is he or he is falling because of the KHL contract?
Gavin Lee
6:50
He is extremely talented, and definitely would have been in the conversation for #3 (or maybe even #2 at one point) if he was from anywhere but Russia.
Teams are worried about the KHL factor, and they should be.
Lots of things get lost in translation, especially in communication between agents here and abroad.
6:51
He has said repeatedly (again, in Russian) that he wants to come over after his deal is done.
If a team believes that, take him. He's really, really good.
Jason

There is all this talk of offer sheets for guys expected to get 7-8-9 million a year.  Will teams really pay the price in draft picks?
Gavin Lee
6:51
No.
I do not believe so.
Cody
6:52
If Marner signs anoffer sheet above 12M do you match or take the picks
Gavin Lee
6:52
The Maple Leafs simply couldn't match that, but whoever is signing it shouldn't be able to either.
6:53
Making Mitch Marner the highest paid player in the league is a mistake, and giving up four first round picks to do it is even worse.
It's not going to happen.

Would Bobrovsky be the final missing piece to get the Whale ... uh Hurricanes to take the next step?
Gavin Lee
6:53
He certainly wouldn't hurt, but I don't think that's where his head is.
I'd also be very wary of signing a goaltender to what he'll be asking for.
Chuck
6:54
Any chance Hughes or Kaapo drops to Blackhawks?  Who do you take if not?
Gavin Lee
6:54
Neither will drop, and I'd take Byram.
But I think they're going to take Turcotte.
Brian
6:55
Other than Hughes and kakko do you see any other prospects playing in the nhl next year?
