You weren't kidding that the metrics don't favor them. I just took a look.
6:44
From my perspective, like I've said pretty much every week for the last year in this chat, Sam Steel isn't ready to play center in the NHL.
He's going to be an okay player, but I think he's being overmatched right now.
6:45
Comtois is still giving them that bang and crash kid, but the lack of real standout talents is really coming to the front for me again.
6:46
I just don't see anything about his game that screams high end NHL player.
93 Duck
6:47
Once Nick Ritchie returns to the lineup, along with other injured Ducks, which of the young players are most likely to stick around on the big club?
Gavin Lee
6:47
You would think that it's Comtois who gets the boot when Ritchie returns, but who knows at this point.
I mean the kid does have six points.
Coyotes
6:48
Thoughts on the Coyotes? Do you think Galchenyuk can be the spark they need? How good can Keller be?
Gavin Lee
6:48
Tough start for that team. Generate shots like crazy, can't score a single goal.
Galchenyuk will help in that department, and Keller has a lot more in him.
6:49
He can be a top, top point producer in this league.
Like an 80/year player.
Mike
6:49
Will Pacioretty get 30 goals this year? He can’t be as bad as he was last year
Gavin Lee
6:50
Tough start, but he'll come around and start putting it in the net.
I'd probably bet against 30 at this point, but somewhere around 25 is easy.
Blake
6:50
Would the Karlsson trade be a bust if the Sharks don't win the Stanley Cup and he doesn't resign with the team?
Gavin Lee
6:51
There was never any guarantee of either of those things, and most still saw it as a win for the Sharks at the time.
You want to get the best player, and they clearly got the best player.
Sometimes you have to give up futures to take a shot at the Cup, they felt they could do that.
6:52
Is Chris Tierney a decent player? Sure. Might Rudolphs Balcers turn into a good player? Sure.
It's Rudolfs isn't it.
6:53
I don't think it can really bust on them.
Cody
6:53
How long till McDavid wants out of Edmonton
Gavin Lee
6:53
I do not think this is a problem.
6:54
Making a ton of money, playing on a historic team, getting tons of ice time.
Ron Duguay
6:55
What’s wrong with Dallas’ secondary scoring?
Gavin Lee
6:55
It doesn't exist, is the problem.
Jason Spezza is their best forward outside of the big three. That's a problem.
6:57
When you're giving guys 17 minutes of ice time, and they're turning in 30-35 point seasons, they're not going to be able to carry you when the goals dry up from the big guns.
Faksa is a really good player, but if people though he was going to miraculously become an offensive weapon they were mistaken.
Peter
6:59
Could Barzal challenge for 100 points in his prime?
Gavin Lee
6:59
Yes, definitely.
Heck, he challenged 100 points last season.
85 isn't that far off.
7:00
He's one of the best creators from inside the zone there is in the game.
Give him room at the hash marks, and you're in trouble.
Mark
7:00
How many prime years does Ovechkin have left? It’ll be sad to see him decline.
Gavin Lee
7:00
Russian Machine Never Breaks.
7:02
After seeing him put in another two PP goals last night, it once again made me contemplate the Gretzky record.
