For programs that require personal statements, must it be double spaced? or is there no restriction?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:35
Fariha, all applications require a personal statement and no, it doesn't need to be double spaced. That is up to you.

Hi, Will. The reason I wish to leave off a project is that my 1-page resume is full right now (I cannot add one single word). Yes, I do want to include all my experiences in my Resume, but then it will become one and half page. I don't know if this is allowed because one and half page resume is not common
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist

Hi Guest, it really depends - again, I recommend you do some research regarding resume/cv styles. You want to include all information that you believe is relevant for your application.

What the sources of funding at UPenn?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:37
Hi Guest, we don't offer funding for masters students. You can find some sources of funding here: http://www.cis.upenn.edu/prospective-students/graduate/aid.php

Also, Is it necessary to submit TOEFL score for international applicants ? If not, what other documents can we show to substantiate English language proficiency requirement ?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:37
Shubham, yes, that is a requirement, unless you have either graduated/will graduate with a degree from an institution in the US or from a school where English was the language of instruction.

Hi Will! Regarding ways to connect with program and faculty, could we reach out to the person of interest after submitting the application? Do you recommend doing so?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:40
Hi Holly, yes, you can. However, as this is a very busy time of year, faculty may not reply right away. I do recommend reaching out to the Program Coordinator for the program, and you can find that contact info here: https://grad.seas.upenn.edu/student-handbook/graduate-programs-groups/...

My school had English as the medium of instruction. What proof/document I need to submit for the same ? Where should I upload/submit that proof/document ?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:41
Shubham, if this is indicated on the unofficial transcript, that will be fine. What's the name of your school? We have an internal list and I can check if it is on that? But if you have a separate document, we recommend combining it with your transcript into a pdf when you upload that information.

Hi, Will. Thank you for your reply. Another question:where can I find the admission info(admission rate and applicants number) for the programs MCIT and MSE Robotics of 2019 Fall? Thank you!
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:44
Hi Guest, you can find the MCIT here: https://www.cis.upenn.edu/graduate/how-to-apply/admissions-statistics/ The Robotics page hasn't been updated since 2017, but I can tell you we had 600 applications last year, admitted 16% and had 45 students start classes this past fall.

Hello, could I get the application fee waiver for the second application?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:44
Jin, we do not offer application fee waivers for 2nd applications.
10:45
However, if you believe you qualify for a waiver, you can email our associate director, Christina Burton, at chburton@seas.upenn.edu and request one. Please be specific as to why you believe you qualify for a waiver. We don't offer them for financial reasons for masters applicants.

Thank you Will, But what do you mean THAT the decisions are sent out on a rolling basis, does it mean it is gonna take some time to be released ,right? Is not expexted To be after 6-8 weeks after the deadline for PhD ESE applicants?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:47
Guest, I mean that decisions don't have a definite release date, hence the "rolling," term. Whether a department makes one decision or all of the decisions, we will send them out once we process them.

Hi Khalid, your school is on our list, so you are ok and will qualify to have the TOEFL/IELTS requirement waived.
