Hi @guest. We have a clearing call centre where University of Leeds staff will be able to take some details before putting you through to the relevant school where appropriate. Please call on 0370 126 0606 from 8am next Thursday. Thanks, Amy.

do we have to contact our specific schools (eg. school of medicine) on results day if we just miss our grades or do we just use a general number?

Hi @Rebecca, thank you for your message. You would find out on the 13th of August if you have a place. This will be available via UCAS track.

Hello - I’m taking International A-Levels and my results will be released slightly earlier (11th) than the rest of the UK - will the university let me know if I have a place on the 11th or will I need to wait until the 13th to find out? Thanks.

Hi @guest - If you do not meet your firm offer at Leeds on results but still want to come to the university, I would recommend on results day to check the course availability.

If I didnt get into my firm which is Leeds but got into my insurance and I didnt want to go, do I call the clearing hotline number for Leeds to see if there are any spaces left for my course?

Hi, im taking a Gap year and I have an offer, if I miss my offer, what would be the best next steps. Would it be to reapply next year or should I go call up clearing and ask for a deferred place through another course?
AvatarMatthew Elliott

Hi @Hamna. Entry criteria may be lower on clearing. This will depend on the course you are applying for. It is best to check this on results day to check their position on lower offers.

will entry requirements for courses in clearing be lower?

Hi @Alisha C,

BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (QCF): distinction/distinction/distinction and must contain at least one-third science content at distinction. We normally recommend the Applied Science route and strongly advise you to contact the School to discuss the suitability of your chosen BTEC course.
All BTEC modules must be listed on your UCAS form or else your application will be rejected. Please see the link for more information https://courses.leeds.ac.uk/i102/diagnostic-radiography-bsc

Do you allow Btecs for Diagnostic radiography?

Hi @Taief, places offered in Clearing are generally offered on the basis that they are valid only for entry to university that year. If you were to receive an offer through Clearing, I would suggest you contact the Admissions Team to see if they would accommodate a deferred place. If they are unable to do this, you would need to reapply for the following year.  Please be aware however that there isn’t a guarantee you would be accepted, especially if your grades did not meet the standard entry requirements.

Can i apply to clearing for a deffered place?

Hi @guest. You can only ring on the 13th. You can check for course availability on our clearing website on the 12th at 5pm.

What do you mean ring for course availability on the 12th?
Amy Warriner
3:22
Hi @Alisha. Unfortunately the webchat team today are representing the university as a whole, so it is difficult for us to comment on very specific cases. The only advice I am able to give at this point unfortunately is to contact the admissions team again to chase this up. I would recommend trying email first before a phone call, as most office phones are out of use while the majority of staff are working from home. Best wishes, Amy.

I was offered a place on 6th of December 2019, then I received an email saying I cancelled when I didn’t, I contacted the admission team they said they would send another appointment but they didn’t

Hi @grace and @michaela ! You may still need to do an online interview depending on your course. You will be notified of this by the department. It is best to prepare yourself for the possibility this could happen.

Whats the clearing number for the business school please?
Abraham Bwalya

@Karina Breen-Cusido, thank you for your message. We unfortunately dont accept UCAS points and instead use an A-level offer model. Have a look on our website at 5pm on the 12th of august for the clearing courses we have available and the entry requirements.

Does clearing this year work through UCAS points? As I saw for some University's that the grades needed for the required UCAS points was less than the entry requirements themselves.

Hi @Taief R,
On the 12th of August at 5pm we will have a list of courses available through clearing. I would recommend you have a look and see if the course is there through clearing. Please call on 0370 126 0606 from 8am.

Hi, when I call on results day, who should I call to ask about any spaces for economics and finance (or similar course). Should I call up the business school, if so could you please tell me the number to call.

Hi @Awaiz. You will be able to find out on Wednesday 12th regarding course availability, and ring on the 13th to check whether you meet the criteria.

Is it possible to ring before hand and find out if there’s a place available on the course before I decline a firm choice?

Hi @Josh. If you were sitting your examinations as a private candidate, we will be as flexible as possible and use a range of evidence to assess your application. We advise you to contact the admissions team within Dentistry for further advice: denadmissions@leeds.ac.uk · +44 (0)113 343 9922

Hi, the university of Leeds has said previously that candidates who fail to meet the conditions of the offer will not automatically be unsuccessful. What would this mean for a private candidate who is less likely to receive higher grades due to the standardisation model, applying for dentistry?
Amy Warriner
3:19
Hi @guest. Thanks for your question. Yes, if you are sitting your exams in autumn you would need to reapply for 2021 entry. If you are awaiting a response to an offer based on your 2020 predicted grades, you will receive this decision via UCAS track on Thursday 13th August at 8am. You can choose to accept or decline this offer at that point. Thanks, Amy.

Doing the autumn exams would still require 2021 entry, right? So why would they still be offered?

Is there a process we would have to go through if we were off by 1 grade on our offers? e.g ABB requirement but achieved CBB.

Hi @Guest, When you get your results, log on to UCAS track to find out if you have been accepted. If you need to go through clearing you can call 0370 126 0606 from 8am. Hope this helps, Sarah

Hi @josh. We will not be able to publish this until 5pm on Wednesday 12th August.

will dentistry be available in clearing?
Amy Warriner
3:14
Hi @Guest. The university and admissions tutors for the course will make the decisions when your A level grades become available to them. When you log into UCAS track on Thursday morning you should have a decision either way about whether you have been accepted onto the course. Hope this helps, best wishes, Amy.
