Rodgers as Steelers QB! Seriously! Looks like they miscalculated and are now in panic mode.
Brian Batko
3:16
It's difficult for me to read this any other way
Christopher Carter

During our live show last night I gave this breakdown of the chances of who the Steelers could land at QB:
Russell Wilson 40%
Field (Rodgers/Darnold/etc) 35%
Justin Fields 25%
Danimal
3:18
Do you think they’ll find their next Mason Rudolph in this draft? A first round graded pick that they take in the fourth round?
Brian Batko
3:20
Nice one, Danimal. Here's how I view it playing out from here:

  1. Steelers sign Rodgers or Wilson to be QB1
  2. Steelers try to draft a QB they like (player TBD) who can wait in the wings behind said QB1
  3. If the draft doesn't pan out, they swing a trade for someone like Joe Milton, Malik Willis, etc.
Steve C
3:22
I have to say Brian, though I agree that's what we're left with at this point, but I'm not exactly jazzed about those options.
Brian Batko
3:23
Yeah, I don't blame you. But on the bright side, the 2026 draft might offer a cornucopia of QBs.
KJ9
3:23
Steelers surely know next year's QB crop is much better, right Brian? I'd roll with the crew they have this year and plan to move up next year. And they might not need to move up next year!
Brian Batko
3:23
They don't have a crew yet this year!
Stillers1963
3:23
Mason Rudolph is available....
Christopher Carter
3:23
The crew: ghost
Brian Batko
3:24
Mason Rudolph is still available, yes. And so is Josh Dobbs. I say bring those two back for a camp battle, baby.

3:25
Has any player ever demanded a trade within 48 hours of being traded to/signing an extension with a team?
Brian Batko
3:25
I hope DK Metcalf is on his own darkness retreat right now.
3:26
Actually, if we're being honest, he'd probably be just fine playing with Russell Wilson again like they did in Seattle.
Christopher Carter
3:26
That's another reason why I do think Russell Wilson makes more sense. The QB you just signed for big money has a connection with him. Both on and off the field.
Brian Batko
3:28
I wonder if Arthur Smith wishes he would've just taken the UNC job right about now.
Jason
3:29
At this point sign D Jones. 1st round get that DL, trade Pickens for a 2nd draft a WR and hope Dart is there in the 3rd.
Brian Batko
3:29
Daniel Jones is growing on me with each passing week, day, minute, second/
Ken
3:31
Good afternoon! I am thinking Steelers trade out of first round this year for 2nd and 3rd this year and a 2nd round pick (perhaps another) in 2026 to have draft capital to move up in 2026 to get the QB they desire.
Brian Batko
3:31
That's a fair long-term plan, Ken, but takes two to tango. I don't see many teams wanting to trade up in this draft.
Wayward
3:31
Absent a Pickens trade is WR now a mid or late round flyer?
Brian Batko
3:32
Probably, yeah. I don't think you invest a first-round pick into a WR after giving up a second-rounder for DK, then turning around and giving him five for 150.
KC
3:32
Jones is younger and much more mobile.
Brian Batko
3:33
Daniel Jones has become the butt of a lot of NFL jokes. But so have Rodgers and Wilson. The latter two at least have a certain cache built up over time. So in that sense, one major factor might be whether Wilson still has pull in that locker room, whether the heavy hitters on the team still believe in him. If not, there's no point at all in running him back out there.

3:34
Brian, where are all the CB and DL signings for the Steelers?
Brian Batko
3:35
Gerry Dulac just reported the Steelers are signing Darius Slay. More on that here https://www.post-gazette.com/sports/steelers/2025/03/10/nfl-free-agenc...
3:36
But my take is that Slay better come cheap at 34 years old playing that position and having been cut by the Eagles. Otherwise it reminds me of Patrick Peterson Part Deux.

3:38
What’s the knock on Daniel Jones?  Only 27, played on a horrible team.  I feel like we know exactly what we are getting with the other two.  Jones has some upside imo and if he flames out, we draft a QB next year.
Brian Batko
3:40
Simply put, he was awful for the Giants, burley. That's the knock on him. Pocket presence, turnovers, general lack of that "it" factor you want out of a QB. He has good physical tools, the measurable and the traits, but might not be able to put it all together
George T
3:41
I don’t see the Slay signing as a bad thing. He’s here for a year we draft a CB in the third round and with Trice we see what we can have for 2026.
Brian Batko
3:42
I still have some faith in Cory Trice, personally. And yeah, I'd definitely draft one in the first four picks.
J D
3:42
Rogers, seems to be the one now but if that doesn't happen, who is next, Charlie Brown?
Brian Batko
3:42
Build around Kyle Allen
Terry Bradshaw
3:45
They should call me, I'm available.
Lou
3:45
How do Rodgers and Russ compare as far as making throws over the middle?  Take the better of the two. Both can go deep.
Brian Batko
3:46
I'd probably lean Rodgers on that one. Russ not known for using the middle of the field or intermediate throws.
OK guys, we're gonna go for about 15 more minutes here on the chat. What a wild afternoon it's been.
Brian
3:47
Tomlin isn't known for using the middle of the field either.
Brian Batko
