Are the Mets just going to buy a new bullpen? Keeping diaz is a start, but almost everyone else is gone. Do they grab over under 2.5 relievers from the top 50?

They'll have to. I'll take the under on 2.5 more Top 50 guys (Diaz was obviously one, at 5/100, before he signed), but only because there are just so many relievers out there, as I just alluded to. I'm sure they'll sign at least two more and probably trade for another one or two

Surprised by it and think he accepts, but the Giants have more payroll space than they can realistically even fill this winter. They like him, want to keep him, and probably don't mind overpaying him by what they feel is a few million bucks to ensure he stays.
I wouldn't have made it, but oh well

Yeah I think that's true. I had them on Vazquez and Andrew Chafin before moving Vazquez. Cardinals operate pretty aggressively on the trade market, and there'll be some good catchers out there this winter (Sean Murphy, Danny Jansen)

Verlander is getting into his 40s. He's going to sign with a team he feels is a clear World Series threat. Fun as Baltimore's up-and-coming young talent is, I don't think that's going to sell Verlander on Baltimore being an appealing destination.

I'm pretty confident that the only free-agent, multi-year contract the Twins have given out in the past 15 years is Addison Reed. I don't think they'll bring Rogers back, no.

He was worth more than $19.65MM in 2022. The Dodgers are either confident they can replicate it or that even with regression, it'll only be an overpay by a matter of a few million bucks. Either seems reasonable. Teams are generally willing to overpay in AAV in order to limit the length of a contract. It's plenty defensible to say you'd rather pay $3-4MM extra for one year than to give him a three-year deal that turns into a pumpkin in the third season.
