Hi, what are the 8 stations and what do they each assess at an mmi interview
AvatarHaaroon

This is a BLUE event, and will count towards your event attendance. Please email the inbox (reachforexcellence@leeds.ac.uk) with the code UW9623 to register your attendance. Don't forget to include your full name and school so we know who you are!

@Haroon thank you!

Hi @Taylor. Really good question! In theory it's worked out so that it's 50/50, so the workload should be roughly the same as a single honors degree. If you're interested in both it's a good option, but you may find it frustrating that you can't go into quite as much detail as people  doing single honors in either history or politics.

Okay thanks

Is there a study abroad option at Leeds as I’ve seen there is at some other uni’s? Because I’m wanting to study in America as my first option but I’m trying to create back up plans.

will i still qualify for a secondary teaching position with a maths and philosophy degree?
AvatarShauni
4:21
@Guest where MMIs are to assess applicants’ non-academic qualities. There are currently eight interview stations, which applicants progress around. Each station currently lasts 7 minutes, with 1 minute to move between stations and read the next task. The format of stations varies.

If you are predicted BBB will leeds accept you.
AvatarShauni
4:22
@Halima it depends which course you're applying for?
Sana Imran
4:22
Despite Access to Leeds meaning your grades can be lowered to ABB, wouldn’t that mean when being ranked you would be towards the bottom and not chance to be interviewed for the medicine course, so I am quite confused as to how it works?
AvatarHaaroon
4:22
@Emily - We have one of the widest ranges of study abroad opportunities in the UK

You could spend time studying in Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Africa, Korea and Latin America among many other options - we have over 300 university partners worldwide.
Studying abroad gives you the opportunity to improve your confidence and increase your employability by developing your skills and experience. You could even have the choice to be awarded an international or European variant of your degree, helping you stand out to employers.

@Halima we don't offer this directly to our RfE students but there are plenty of useful events for this on the scheme, as well as lots of transferable skills, that will massively benefit you while you're applying for internships.
Taylor

Thank you
Ricki Adechi
4:23
Okay thank you!
AvatarShauni
4:23
@Sana hello - no you wouldn't be put at a disadvantage at all! It actually gives you more of an opportunity to show why you'd like to come to Leeds - the admissions tutors will see both your personal statement/application and a short Access to Leeds statement.

Hi @madiha. If you want to teach either maths or philosophy, then yes!
Anisah

I was wondering if in the future we will do some practice using the vr gear for dentistry manual dexterity ?

Thanks Molly! If I did do an MB would the course at Leeds to complete my degree still be 5 years or would it be less?
madiha
4:23
@Matthew Thank you!
AvatarShauni
4:24
@Anisah yes definitely! We should be able to get on our Simodont machines during the summer school - maybe even in Easter if we're lucky! They're really cool :)
Maariya

If you take a gap year, can you still apply for Acess to Leeds on the year you are applying
AvatarHaaroon
4:24
@Maariya - yes!
AvatarMatthew John
4:24
No problem @madiha!

Despite Access to Leeds meaning your grades can be reduced to ABB for you to get accepted, wouldn’t it mean that when ranked for being invited to an interview you would be towards the bottom and have less of a chance of being interviewed, I’m quite confused as to how it works?
